Would anybody be interested in having their cinematic being put onto a dvd? We will have the abililty to do in a few weeks, just enough time to see if there is any interest in this. It would be cheap about £7 ($15) that's including postage and packaging - will know exact prices closer to the date. Cheers guys. Jet Black Productions (www.jetblackproductions.com) --amendment-- Actually just thinking about it, should be a lot cheaper to do vcd, that'll be about £1 ($3) for it, I could also just send the binary file and you could burn the dvd's yourself. ps This is with me only covering my costs, to be honest I probably won't even do that and give this service for free. pps I'll put up a post when we have the full capability |

Wouldn't Blizzard get seriously pissed off if they found out that other people are making money with Warcraft? Even if the DvD isn't for sellling, I highly doubt that it is legal. Would be cool though. Dre |

Heh I'm not sure if its entirely legal either. Burning your own cinematic onto a DVD yourself would be legal though, so long as you don't sell it. And I think you can ship them to people for free (+ shipping & handling) legally. Don't know though, its something I'll have to look into when I finish TTOA. |

As far as I know I can do it for donations, my site accepts donations...a legal thing. I'm also allowed to charge to cover the costs of production...it's if I start adding extra on top, ie a profit, that it starts to get dodgy. To be honest I'm only really bothered about expenses, cd's I'd burn and give away - within reason - but dvd's still cost quite a bit. |

Also, just thinking about it...I could burn the movies on .bin and .cue files, then you could download them to your computers, say through MIRC or something. Then you could burn them yours at your end, whereever it is. From there you could burn your own DVDs or VCDs to your hearts desire, no money involved. Fun all round. |

Yeah..that´d be better... so what program are you using to record? fraps? |

Yeh fraps. The main problem though is not what program you use but the power of the computer your running it on. We've got together about £1500 ($2600) to buy a compuer. This should get us the absolute top of line computer for video editing, this way we'll achieve a high frame rate and hence a good quality film. The sound will probably be recorded seperately and then we'll edit the two together properly. The only thing we'll ask is that we can keep a copy to show the work we're capable of doing, we're actually setting up a real production company and could do with the material to show what we can do, no profit will be made from it - We're also doing music videos on the same basis...bands get there videos but we keep a copy for showroom purposes. We'll have the computer in about a month, maybe sooner. |

It would be legal if the money you recieved was only to buy the DVD needed, package it, and ship it. Edit: I don't remember Warcraft III needing a top of the line computer to get optimal framerate. |
