[Request] Snake Jaina

Took me several hours, as the skin texture was tricky. I also took quite a few stabs at armor, but I decided to leave the legs bare, as the wrapping made the armor look like brains (wish I kept a screen :) ) so, here it is. I borrowed the naga sea-witch skin pattern, grayscaled, and overlayed the face I drew (made it look better) which is the only work not by me. (the face under the overlay is, im talking about the scaley texture) Oh, and the eye-square+staff jewel things are recolored. Rest freehand =) Skinned at 512x512. Shoulderpads are teamcolor, too!

The snake skin is undeniably good...but the clolth isn't exactly the best, think you could work on it a little ?

The skin looks very flat and dirty. You need more consistant and defined shading if you want this to not stand out like a sore thumb in War3. I really cant see where your 'hours' of work went into this, unless you redid it several times.

WH- where is it flat or dirty. The skin is literally exactly how I intended it to look, maybe you just dont see it through my eyes, since it looks just fine in war3. Or, maybe it was just another excuse for you to flame me. Oh, and it doesnt look flat, maybe its just like that in 256x256 or something, I dunno. I made it in 512, but had no room in the image, lol.
-edit- Well, was that maverick who gave you pos rep for saying my skin sucks, and me neg? Well, good thing the admins are considering banning abusers ;)---

Undaunt- can you go into a bit more detail on how I should change it? I dont think its worth the time, since most of that detail is lost after resizing to

Well....on the cape, why don't you add a little bit of mud in a corner...but make it a little bit translucent so you can see the detail on the cloth. Liewise, you could add a spot of red or green blue, I think the green wouls suit, blood somewhere on the cape...and something should be done to brighten the team colour on the shoulder pad maybe ? How does it look ingame ? Post a screeny of it please.

i cant get an exact ingame look, my cddrive doesnt work, but I can estimate well in the viewer (zoom out)
I would do that stuff to the cape, but it affects the hood (and makes it look bad...) and besides, shadowfury said something about the cape which effected how I made it... I dont remember what though ;)

Your ideas are good, but its a shame the hood uses the same skin :X

Really ? Hmm...I should mess around with Jaina's skin then and post the results for you to use as a guideline maybe.

The skin looks bad, like a textured spray. The front shot of the unit makes herlook like a man, because you emphasised the nose too much, and there is no variation in the green at all.

The clothes are poorly shaded, and there is no definition between materials on th eboots and cape, just a clean cut line.

Considering this is 512x512 you wasted the potential detail. This could easily be much smaller and show just as much.

And then you contradict yourself.

'looks just fine in war3'

'I cant get an exact ingame look'

And fnally, dont talk crap about rules that don't exist. I moderate no less than 4 forums. I am aware of the regulations.

Hmm a decent skin. It would be better if you could make it less 'scratchy'. It just seems sorta blurred as if someone rubbed a board full of tons of thumbnails over it. Though maybe its just the screenshot.

Not bad for a first skin, it does look very much like a male though. Its because of the irregularity of the very dark scales, makes it look like it has a beard and hairy legs. I dont think the leopard skin is appropriate.

lol fun idea
you did a good job on the cape, i can't really say anything, but for the face, it looks like a bit too manly from a non-portrait close view... the red gets easily noticed, you should change the color.. like to a bright green... a human lip is pink and a snake-girl would be... lol
red and green have a strong constrast, together it gets really noticed like an ogre in a crowd of sheeps or vice versa..
to blend the lips in the face, try using a lesser constrast, like yellow or bright green..
Something more exotic would be to remove the shirt, really, so it looks like less jaina..well, in another way its snake-jaina. well, if you're really good at anatomy you can do that, and do.. the naked corspe, you can put leaves or a thong, it could look like an awesome change and get your skin more attention ;P

i wish you the best of the lucks with the skin!

VS- This isnt my first skin, I've done tons of skins...
Well, Shadowfury wanted the lips red, I asked him :P
WH- I asked an admin (was it draco?) and he said wc3c may start banning abusers/spammers ;) Then again, it was IRC, and I think private, so I shoulda said.. As for the contradictions, It looks fine zoomed out at wc3-camera distance on a normal colored background..

I intended the boots, gloves, and cape to be the same, and the red color to call attention. If Sf wants me to, ill fix the face-- I see your points :X It doesnt look manly to me (other than on the UV, lol) but it needs some consistancy in the shading, I admit... I tried to draw the face with light, but as I put the texture on overlay, I shoulda brightened it, so the variation is drastic :P

Very intersting skin... Would look better if the scales were more clearly defined, rather than the soft cross-hatching. Other than that...

A skinner I used to work with (Wolverine) was inspired when he saw this skin and tried his hand at making a snake woman... Well, hehe was the result he came up with:
