Magic the gathering - who's interested in a complete conversion?

For those of you who have never played magic before it is a collectable card game where 2 people battle it out using a variety of creatures, magic, etc.

You can find out more at
http://www.wizards.com/magic/

Basically they released a game called Battlegrounds - this software was basically c**p.
So I decided to remake it completely in Warcraft 3.

This would mean making a turn based game with two players, allowing both sides to have a seperate deck (or maybe to have two people with set spells and a fixed mana and mana regeneration rate??? I don't know). New AI scripts...Basically the works need doing.
Cinematics of the creatures fighting and using magic on each other is a must.

Anyway, if anyones interested in helping out then get back to me, otherwise I'll get to work on it by myself.

My hope is to bring out an entirely new game with no simalarity to the original warcraft 3.

Catch you later.

ps Am I being to ambitious?? I know it can be done

www.google.com search apprentice thanks there you have an mtg emulator. but I would be interested in doing a complete conversion with 60 card decks and actually modelled Creatures. I want to see a modelled thorn elemental. THE GOOD ILLUSTRATION BY rk post NOT THE SHITTY ONE ON THE 7th EDITION ONE! I might be interested in ideas & helping with the rulings and card database, maybe a little skinning but i'm doing two projects right now. i'm interested in an idea like this though. Maybe an animated "Mage" for each player, chooseable as an avatar like in the forum. Then the decks, just a simple rounded and skinned box. Then you can do a *draw* animation by having a plane inside the box and pulling it out in an animation. the cards could be within fog of war and when played they could actually make the creature/spell appear with an animation. just ideas, well, post if you're interested in anything i said or having me on the team, I'm going to go check out PR's forum.

Ouch... just thinking about the insane ammount of work that map would require makes my head hurt. It sounds like a good idea, but if you consider how much time this would require to do, and it probably wouldn't be that great. It would be an even slower version of MTG online (if you wanted it to be like the actual card game, then you need provide a chance to respond to every action in the game... ouch!)

woah, if this is ACTUALLY completed, then with all the custom models and skins and creatures and stuff, it will be one big-ass file size. plus you might want to look at customability: M:tG was known for its custom decks with lots of cards, and if you just make two pre-set decks, then people are gonna become bored very quickly.

Yeah, I know - thinking about it I might plan this and leave it till I finish uni for the summer.
I think I could probably save space by using a custom made program to create the decks and load them in game...I think that can be done.
Gonna work on something else for now, but I think I'll come back to this.
If anyone is really interested in doing it then you'll all still be here when I get round to it.
