I'm just curious what you guys think about this topic. Please support your vote by posting your reasons why you chose that option. Thank you.

Go building models?

Why: Units as buildings dont rotate, they just end up looking dumb because often times they never even face the right way.

Buidings, don't matter if they're the same model, i don't like units as Towers....really dumb idea.... i would have to go with the Gearhead on the "why i don't like units" explanation :)

Well, the building models tend to work better visually, I think, but there's not that many of them, and not very much variety, and they've all been used in TD's extensively.

So, doodad models frequently work nicely. And sometimes even spell effect models (ones that have a Stand anim).

A lot of the unit models have a sturdy enough feel that they work in place of building models. Things that hover, though, don't really work for me.

If you want a model to rotate, you can give it the Root ability.

Of course, then they can lift themselves up, and move, too. Like in ChrydGod's Cube D BE, sort of. I bet you can give them the Root ability so that they rotate, but also make it so they can't use the ability. That would be a question for the Trigger Haven, though.

EDIT: Maybe you could rename the Root abilty to Sell and trigger it so that when the unit unroots, it's killed and removed, and the player gains X gold.

You know what, I'm going to use that Panto. Brilliant suggestion, and it cleans up the sell trigger.

Did you know that when you use the remove trained unit, remove triggering unit commands, sometimes the trained unit is left behind?

I've only ever happened once, kinda wierd. If I use an ability it shouldn't ever have that problem.

I've never thought of using root. Very nice idea. I've always used an ability as sell. It works so much cleaner. No ugly and useless rally point. Also you can only sell one at a time, which can be either helpful or hurtful.

I also always used unit models cuz the units were a complete different type of tower
