ok, here's the story. My map has a way too huge file size and takes forever to download. Respectivly, people do not want to wait for the download, and my map never gets played. Rival nations has a bigger map, more units, and probly more triggers than my map, yet my map has a way huger file size. SOMEONE HELP ME! If anyone has a way to reduce the file size of a map i would really appreciate it. |

i think that BlackDick's heavy locker might resize it (shoot me if i'm wrong, but i thought i heard that) and if not that, then probably your connection is too slow |

Where would i get that? i can't find this "heavy locker" anywhere and its not my connection. I checked the file sizes. My map is 2.54 mb, rival nations is only 470 kb that means my map is like 5 times larger |

do you have any custom sound files in your map? i havent a clue how to reduce icons/models/textures but i know if you have big audio files, you can open them in Sound Recorder (standard windows program) and then make the quality slightly less (if they are 2 channel, make them one channel), this should reduce the size by a bit. |

Ultimately the only things that are going to make your map that gigantic are imported files, like models, skins, and as Anarki suggested, sounds. What are you importing right now? Maybe some things can be substituted to reduce the number of imports. I would recommend you never let a map get above 1.0 mb, no matter what. Lastly, HeavyLock is available from Warcraft 3 Campaigns, and the link is here. |

ok, i figured it out. the models i imported were HUGE. I had to import new models to have two skins on the same hero and that was most of the problem. Thanks for your help :) |
