Grr very frustrated.. Concerning Yobgul's Converter.

Well from the start I had problems with this program.. Firstly I had no idea where to install it.. it had the Wacraft .dll's.. and I didn't want to overwrite them. Secondly.. every time I closed the program it'd give me a weird error.. something about unreferenced memory.. which freaked me out.

I wasn't sure if it was doing the job.. because the model was completely screwed up when I imported it into WE.. but then again I'm a beginner and this was my first attempt at modelling.. but I followed the help from the modelling forum perfectly and I even posted for help and got simple instructions..

Then finally I find another version of the file converter.. can't remember where.. here or worldofwar.. think it might've been cookie's stickied thread in the .rar he posted.. but it had a readme.. and instructed me to put the war3.exe into my normal war3 directory and replace it.. I was skeptical.. so I backed up my .exe.. then I did it.

Now.. this may sound weird.. but it really fooked things over.. My Frozen Throne .exe opens up normal warcraft.. and my normal warcraft .exe opens up normal warcraft.. can't open World Editor.. I think I may have copied the .dll's that came in the rar to my war3 directory too.. but it didn't tell me not to.. maybe that did the job. Also coopying the backup .exe did nothing.. other than not being able to open normal war3.. lol.. :<

Oh well.. I'd like to get a bit of feedback before I reinstall.. maybe that isn't necessary.. and maybe a link to a program that does the same job as Yobgul's.. or how to install Yobgul's properly.

Any help would be appreciated.. Thanks!

Yea I had some problems with it myself. This program uses differnt dlls then your current version of Warcraft. So what you will have to do is put Yobuls dll files in a folder, and place your current version dll files in another folder ( and update them whenever you have a patch). Im asuming that you replaced the dlls with Yoblus so you will have to reinstall and repatch the game to get it back. So basicly whenever you want to use the program you will have to copy paste the Yobuls files into your war 3 directory and then when you are done copy paste your current version files back into the main directroy. Hope this helps :)

u sure you "Copied" the .dll or .war3 files or did you "Move" them?

Did you ever try my installer for it? Check the Important threads for this tool and download my installer!
Maybe it would be helpful to make a fresh reinstall of WC3 + latest updates first. My installer extracts the appropriate versions of the needed DLLs from war3.mpq. So there is absolutely nothing you have to take care about.

And please put it into an independent directory for gods sake. I would be very grateful for that since there is an awful lot of people who failed installing this tool, just because they were so dumb and put it directly into the WC3 directory.
