This concept sorta found it's own way onto my "canvas", I made it up as I went along and I do not recall where I found inspiration. In my opinion I think it is amazing given how simply it was put together, not that it was a breeze and I finished in 5 minutes, (because it wasn't, and it took me a few days :) ) but I didn't use many textures, i didn't change any hieghts, and of course there are no custom skins / doodads. I did cheap out on background terrain, but the sky seems to provide enough of a background I think, atleast when the background terrain is shifted out of view ;) . It seems to have a sort of charm to it or something, maybe it's the angle of the screenshots, maybe the cascading waterfalls? What do you think? Also (duh) what do you think I should have done in addition, and if you're willing to give out your own secrets what might you do to improve it at this point? |

Mayan architecture is always fascinating, and what really brings this piece to life is the water. No mayan would ever be capable creating a mechanism to lift so much water so high, and thus the water has a... an impossible feeling to it, but that of triumph, not despair. |

Incredible work! That's a facinating building you have there. The statues and plants give it a feeling of age. The vines, the raised elevator with the fountain on top... awesome! |

Nice, but looks a little bit... plain. A few trees around(or a nice big jungle) wouldn't go amiss. :D |

Yeah, but the focus is the Temple, not the background... Heck, just put some Sunken Ruins trees around. Yeah. What he said. |

Well, for the temple... I guess what makes it so nice are the waterfalls on the sides. Would look a bit too plain if they weren't there... |

Scale up some ruins pillars and use them as corner posts at the very top, instead of using those add cliff things. In the second screen, the lilipads would be washed away by the water, so if you're going to add plants, make them rooted. |
