I'm going to be producing a number of models for my Majesty Mod in Milkshape and I'd like some help with unwrapping the models (for skinning purposes,) and conversion to .mdx. Why don't I just do it myself? Partly because it's a tedious, largely mechanical process that requires little by way of artistry, and partly because the PC account I'm using is crammed to the gills and literally doesn't have space to fit the warcraft art tools, Lithunwrap and other assorted utilities neccesary for the job. I can do any skinning myself- once I have the outline of parts produced by Lithunwrap. This is a sample of my work thus far: ![]() I'll be fairly busy the next few weeks, so you'll not be snowed under with work here. Any interest? |

Hey Ed. :) I've considered that... er... option, but as I use a Mac there's no version of 3DSMax available for my platform of choice. I managed to get access to a PC account with space for Milkshape, but that's about it. 'Course, I'm fairly sure Milkshape can export directly to formats that 3DSMax can work with, so anyone who *does* have 3DSMax would be welcome to take the work I produce and polish it by way of skin application and attachment points. Needless to say, full credit for the Mod- but there won't *be* any Mod worth speaking of unless I can get some help with this. |

Congratulations... now you'll get noone What's the problem with deleting a few things from your PC, LithUnwrap is only a couple a megs and same with the art tools. And, dude, if you ever want people to help you out you don't start a post with I have a "tedious, largely mechanical process" for ya'll. It never works like that. Besides, wrong forum. |

God, read the god damn posts, he wants someone to unwrap something for him, this means that he wants help doing it, therefore he either needs a new member to the team or a freelancer, therefor he goes to the request or teamgathering forum Now please stop spamming |

Yes, read the damn posts. The only personal computer I have is a Macintosh, for which neither 3DSMax, Milkshape, Lithunwrap, OR the WC3 art tools are available. I DO have access to an ACCOUNT on a standard PC, which limits the space available to me severely. I literally do not have those few extra megs to spare. I wish I did. Anyone with some time, a hard disk and a little patience could help me out. If the thread does not belong in this forum, by all means move it. But if you don't want to help, then don't waste your breath. Thanks. |

Believe me, if I had my mod powers back, this would be moved. However the mod's of this forum aren't current;y very active. Am I not helping in showing you how to structure a post in order that you may be able to get someone to help? Am I not helping in informing you that you're in the wrong forum to recieve any help and that you are more likely to recieve it elsewhere? I read all the posts here, and quite frankly, you never going to get someone to help you when you yourself look at what they're doing with disdain. If you're in the wrong forum then of course I will inform because we have no mods to move it for you currently. You obviously didn't read all the posts here yourself before posting as I had already informed you further up that you don't need much space at all in order to install those, you could probably get the space by deleting your internet files. I apoligise for helping and 'wasting my breath' I won't waste it on ignorant people such as yourself in the future. Ok, thanks, goodbye. |

Where did you show me this, exactly? Quote:
Didn't you just say I wasn't going to get help, regardless? Besides, in my experience I've gotten rather more feedback when you go directly to the forums dedicated to the activity concerned. Quote:
Where did I say that I hold the job in disdain? I said it was tedious, mechanical, and didn't require much by of artistry. So is brushing your teeth, but I do it every day. Or... would you prefer I lied? "An exciting opportunity to flex your creative genius by fiddling with polygon overlays in LithUnrap!" Hell, if anyone wants to actually do some full-scale modelling for the project, I'd be thrilled. But disinterest on that point has been quite singular. Quote:
I'm sorry, do you read minds? Then how in the hell could you possibly know how much space I have on my account? I do NOT have those megs to spare. Period. This is a blunt fact of reality. And how, pray tell, will I be able to upload or download anything if I delete my internet 'files'? I've already reduced my cache space to nill, if that's what you meant. Quote:
Ignorant? Couldn't say. But I'm not inattentive and presumptuous. |

Thank you indeed. You don't actually need to do the skin proper, just provide a bitmesh image that I can work with. I don't have the wc3 art tools, so if you could convert to .mdx, I'll supply the .blp file to accompany it. I have no personal problem with making the model public, once the Mod (or at least the demo,) is complete. That may not happen for a while, though. I'll try to send you the file as soon as possible. |
