i dispise making cinematics. i'm so bad at doing it.

If you played a rpg with a story line and such, would you mind if the opening cinematic was about 5 seconds long? putting you right in the action afterwards?

In my rpg the heroes learn the story as they go along but i just dont have patience or interest enough for an opening cinematic.

I think that'd be fine. I don't agree with not doing something because you don't want to take the time to learn it, but frankly, in a lot of maps the cinematics are needlessly large and unwieldly. Doing an adequate job portraying the setting in a few seconds is a skill.

i guess i exagerated the first post lol. its not that i'm THAT bad with it, i also dont want the players to get bored with a 10 minute cinematic at the beginning. i want them to start playing right away.
