I need help with Ability Modding.
I don't have FT, so I can't find any RoC Ability Modding Programs (if there are any in the downloads section, tell me). Does anyone know where one is?

There is no "RoC" modding programs, far as I know. Thats what RoC was all about, I kind of miss those days though, I'm proud to say that I'm one of the people who know how to RoC edit. Hurray for me.

There have been lots of modding programs for RoC back when TFT didn't exist but they are all incompatible now.

The only tools you need for ability editing are WinMPQ (found in the dl section) and MS Excel. Use WinMPQ to get Units\AbilityData.slk out of your War3Patch.mpq and edit it with Excel. Then reimport it into your map with the path Units\AbilityData.slk

I know that. I have a substitute for Excel, but I can't figure out how to import. :( How do I import something into RoC?

you can't import into RoC
if you're really desperate to do this, buy FT

If you open up the map itself, the .w3m file, you can manually insert the file that you altered and give it the appropriate path.

I'd heard rumors that this doesn't work properly any more for some .slk's, but I can't vouch for that personally.

If you're interested in mapping, it really is infinitely worth splurging and picking up TFT. Making a good map is all but impossible without it.
