Ultimate cinematic trigger collection/starter kit

I UPDATE THIS VERY REGULARLY, I HAVE A MAILING LIST SO THAT I CAN SEND THOSE WHO ARE INTERESTED THE LATEST COPY AS AND WHEN I DO IT...SEE THE BOTTOM FOR DETAILS

I've collected a number of triggers I always use when creating a cinematic and put them into a zip file.

This lot allows you to easily manipulated many aspects of cinematic creation.

What I need you guys to do is send me more triggers to add to this collection.
I also want comments (improvements, what else should go in, reorganisation, better ways of doing it, etc)
One thing that could do with changing is my English - my comments may not be very clear.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you do more triggers either save them in a map or export them (File -> Export Triggers) and send them to
The triggers must be fully commented to allow people to see what they do and how to use them, also any additional needs (variables, etc)
Also I need to know which catagory they go under (or a new catagory)
Include you name, people can see who did what (if you want that is)

My aim is to produce a set of triggers that everybody can use when producing a cinematic- this will allow people to produce/edit maps easier.
I need your help to make this happen.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To use :
Using the w3x file
Just load the map like you would usually
You will have to change the map in game - Scenerio -> Map properties
or
You will have to copy and paste the triggers into the new map
This is a better option for copying and pasting triggers from these into a map already created.

Using the zip file
Download and unzip somewhere
Go to into the world editor
Go to triggers section
Go to file - > Import Triggers
Open the file you just downloaded (I know there are two files, you can only see one)
In my opinion this is the better option, can create a map then put the triggers in afterwards because they replace your original triggers
For starting maps from scratch.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I need as much feedback as possible so I can make newer versions
(The version number is at the top of the list of triggers)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At least have a look, it's only a tiny file - no map data, only triggers

I see a lot of people looking at this thread but people are not downloading the zip file

Just tried it to make sure and I go the zip file...don't really know what to do, try again I suppose, keep on trying. If it keeps on happening then I'll ask for help from somebody - don't know who though.
I'll email you a copy now to be getting on with.

Before I was the .1 seconds downloading this (I don't have internet of my own, I have to use other computers and put stuff on CDRW's or floppies or whatever, so it is really annoying) what is on this? Is it any thing special that I couldn't do my self?

No, the point is that it is quicker to do it this way - it's a collection of triggers that are used pretty much all everytime you do a cinematic.
What I want to end up with is a standard set of triggers that everybody can use to quickly throw a cinematic together.
The triggers for scene continuation, camera quickly on and off, fade filters, etc are in there.
I've got exams at uni at the moment so haven't really got time to update it, I'd like other people to give me a hand.
This is useful

Nice! Thanks for contributing something like this to the community. ^_^

Ok heres a few changes I think you should make -

In the sound trigger, I also use the following actions:
Sound - Set User Interface Sounds to 0.00%
Sound - Set Unit Response Sounds to 0.00%
Sound - Disable dawn and dusk sounds

In the "camera on" trigger under "Camera Stuff" you don't need to turn letterbox mode on, just Cinematic mode & use the "Cinematic - Fade Filter" action to fade out.
Also for that trigger, create visibility modifiers for all players -
You can use the following actions:

Player Group - Pick every player in (All players) and do (Visibility - Disable fog of war)
Player Group - Pick every player in (All players) and do (Visibility - Enable black mask)
Player Group - Pick every player in (All players) and do (Visibility - Create an initially Enabled visibility modifier for (Picked player) emitting Visibility across (Entire map))
Player Group - Pick every player in (All players) and do (AI - Ignore the guard positions of all (Picked player) units)

Two other useful triggers are the following:
Player Group - Pick every player in (All players) and do (Player - Set (Picked player) handicap to 100.00%)
Player Group - Pick every player in (All players) and do (Hero - Make (Picked player) Heroes gain 0.00% experience from future kills)
^^^
----- These will hero experience, so you won't have heroes leveling up in the middle of a battle.

In the "camera off" trigger under "Camera Stuff" you don't need to turn cinematic mode & letterbox mode off. It looks better when you just leave them on, otherwise, it will start to fade back into the normal game interface right before victory.

I'll sticky this for you. (Thanks to DaMagicMilkMan for PM'ing me about the thread and asking me to sticky it ^_^ )

BTW, are you aware that there is already a site called Warcraft III Warehouse? (http://www.samods.org/wcwarehouse/)
Mock1 has had the site up for many months now. Since summer 2003 I believe.

What does this do? So I can write it in the help file - got an idea but a good definition would be better

No I didn't know, will change the name.

Implemented all those ideas in version 2
I didn't know that name was taken, will think again and change it
Cheers man, keep those suggestions flowing

Very nice :D

Very well catagorizied and explained.

Only one thing I found that should be added is - Under the "Camera On" trigger, you should also add an

"Environment - Set Fog" trigger. None of the settings under it need to be changed, it should just be there so fog can be applied.

Technically you really wouldn't need to use the Environment triggers until you got to each scene. (As you would probably be setting up different fog & sky in each scene, or at least every few scenes), so setting sky and fog isn't completely necessary in the beginning trigger.

In the next update I do I'll add the environment settings at the beginning of each scene.
It's a good idea.
