For a map I'm making, I want to have an ability that slows the attack and movement speeds of nearby enemies. Basically, as you may have guessed from the title, I want it to be the opposite of Endurance Aura. Seems easy enough, right? Just go in and make the values negative? Well, you can't do that just by putting -.05 in the field. I downloaded another map that has this in there, checked the abilities, and lo and behold, this is exactly what this person has done. Anyone know how? N.B.: I've already done a lot of work on custom abilities, so importing the abilities from this other map is out of the question. |

You can set your WE to allow negative values. I think it's under the File menu, and it says just that, "Allow negative values." Still doesn't allow negatives on some things, but largely this will allow you to customize as you see fit. |

I just shift+click to do negatives; it lets you do different things with other fields too. |

When using the shift-click method, you are able to enter values that are normally to high ir to low for the field. For example, you can set a unit's sight range higher then the normal maximum. |

Whenever someone says set it to use negative values in preferences I always suggest shift-clicking instead :D Anyways shift-clicking displays the field as raw data so you can cut corners like what Shimrra said about going above and below normal limits. If youre using .slk's; like with lightning effects if you want like a red Life Drain for 1 spell and still have a Life Drain thats green, it can be useful for specifically using the added lightning data only. That way, you wouldnt have to replace a lightning effect. Hows that for an example? ^_^ |
