Stupid Me. I feel such a Newb. I have had War3 now since Sep 22 (the first day released in USA for War3 Battlechest) and I installed everything including TFT which prevented me from ever noticing something about ROC. PLZ note that I play TFT alot more then ROC. I nvr really noticed that TFT had alot of changes other then prices. For one major thing is the NE unit: BALLISTA aka in TFT: Glaive Thrower. I nvr knew that it was a ballaista with Impaling Bolt. Well, I was wondering can someone do me a favor, or help me do this. I wanna get a map, LT for example and edit all the Units in TFT Editor to make them as if the were nvr changed from ROC. Making them the original Icons, original abilities and Upgrades, and Models. TO be honest I don't know if it can be done, or perhaps its already done. Either Way I would like to be the same units that were in ROC. That way I could learn more about ROC Units. One reason I want to do this is cuz I have a map Idea I want to try. SO can anyone help me out? P.S. - This Message was also posted at Battle.Net Forums |

You should be able to open War3.mpq in an MPQ Program. I think all the RoC Stuff is in there while the TFT stuff is in War3X.mpq |

Yeah....it is, but what does that have to do with editing the units in TFT to match the original ones in ROC? |

just use the original roc units. i think your saying ur prob is ur using the tft editor. Im pretty sure what you would have to do is rename the war3x.mpq whenever you wanna edit ROC and change it back to play TFT. it will prolly be really wierd cause ROC didnt have the ability editor.. you'll be really limited and probably make some mistake like edit a spell then it wont be ROC compatable. |

IS no one understanding me? I want to use TFT editor, but I also ant the units as they were in ROC. For example the Glave Thrower is in tft with also vorpal upgrades Ability. In ROC Its called a Ballista, and its ability is Impaleing Bolt. I want the Ballista in TFT with the impaling bolt ability. I will try renaming war3x.mpq too see what you mean, but I still dont think you know what I mean. Edit: DIdnt work, all that did was mess up the editor. All I want is to have unit to be as they were in ROC. I want the Glave thrower to be the ballista, I want the heroes to cost 500 gold again liek they were in ROC, but I want that in TFT. These Units would have to be edited and saved inside a map. |

Well thats pretty simple. Go to each hero and make them cost 500 gold. Go to the Glavie Thrower, go underneath its model and there should be something along the lines of "Model Version: TFT". Change that to "Model Version: RoC" then rename the Glaive Thrower to Balista. Then go to the Vorpal Glaives upgrade and rename it to "Impaling Bolt". I forgot if it had its own icon though The other changes are: All murloc units have a swim animation Wyvern Rider renamed to Wind Rider Catapult model changed and renamed to Demolisher Priest and Sorceress have new models Crypt Fiends have a burrowing animation Gyrocopter model changed and renamed to Flying Machine A lot of new units |

Easy, i think. Go to Map Properties. Then game data set. Then custom. And then something else. However i'm not completly sure what you do then, since I don't want to screw up my map. Or you could just put in the RoC CD. |

Mecheon has the right answer. Another unit with a new model is also the Steam Tank. also, for impaling bolt, the old icons are hidden, you have to enter their path manually in the object editor when you are selecting an icon. The paths are: ReplaceableTextures\Commandbuttons\PASBTNImpalingBolt ReplaceableTextures\Commandbuttons\BTNImpalingBolt |

I got that much, but what aout the actual Ability Impaling bolt? its different from vorpal blades. and other one.. I guess i'll try puting in the ROC cd, but I dont think that will work. Does anyone wanna help me create a map about this. We can use LT. just editing the units, abilities, upgrades, buffs/effects, and Items if there were anychanges....DOes anyone have a txt or a webpage or anything that show the differences between ROC Units from TFT Units? the TFT manual doesn't help since it only shows new stuff, not chnaged stuff. patch.txt doesn't help either. Edit: Changing cd's doesn't do anything. |

Try something more basic. Like snakes and ladders. The bored game. Because my advice was perfectly clear, and you just couldn't be bothered. |

o_O Man I dont understand what you mean. Map Properties? do you mean map preferences? cuz under Scenario, there is a Map Prenferences. Under Map Preferences, I dont see Game data set, but there is External Custom Data Source. (file must be saved before using this)(perhaps that why you said you didn't want to mess up your map?) and after that you pick a file to use from, so then again, like I said before, I'm Lost. So I don't see why your going on saying I need to do something more basic, when I'm trying to learn about stuff. Excuse me for not knowing! you didn't know at one time too ^_^ |

Are you stupid, or do you just like people to think you are? When someone says "Map Properties", it would be quite safe to assume they *mean* map properties. In the Map Properties window select the 'Options' tab and look near the bottom of the window. You should be able to find the "Map data set" option there: Change this to "Custom (TFT 1.07, RoC 1.01)" (The "Map Properties" window is the one you get by choosing any of the top five options from the "Scenario" dropdown menu.) |

No, I just didn't know. Why it is that hard to understand? some peopel do't get things, anyways. I found it and I did it, but the units to me r the same. Gliave thrower is still glaive thrower. |
