I'm a total retard when it comes to editing MDLs by hand (and I searched the boards for a supposed tutorial that exists that helps how... couldn't find it, can someone spot me a link?). Anyhow, I used Oinkerwinkle's animation exporter program, which is nifty indeed, but my issue is this: I'm giving a Sorceress the Warden's animations. In the WC3 Viewer there's no problem whatsover, but when I import it ingame it has a fit. I didn't screw with it at ALL, just pulled up the Sorceress and Warden, converted them to MDLs, and gave the Sorceress the Warden's animations. Then I imported it to an MDX (no problems) and put it in. I also put it in a blank map. No dice again. I'm not a moron, I closed and re-opened World Editor after importing the model. I tried this on both the old AnimConverter and the new 1.02 version. No dice. Like I said, I didn't change ANYTHING, so if anyone can replicate this and get it working... or if someone who knows about what's broken and required MDL hand editing can help me out... I know enough about models to know what the bones are, and know the Sorc and Warden don't have the same bones in some spots (The Sorceress has some dress bones, for instance) but I have no clue how that affects anything or anything in detail about MDL editing. HELP! :( |

Elaborate on the error, what shows up in WE? |

The ol' "Can't load the file LOLOL", as if I had forgotten a BLP or something. And it displays the checkerbox. So the model doesn't wanna load in WE but DOES load in WC3 Viewer. |

I'm not sure what you're doing wrong, but this worked for me in-game. Upload your map and someone should be able to point it out. Anyway, here it the map I tested it in. |

I have no idea what I did wrong. Unfortunately I don't want to upload the map for fear of thievery, though I know that will happen eventually. I'll just try to retrace my steps, and I'll edit this reply once I figure it out... |
