I am trying to use a wyvern cage as a box in a map I am making, but I want it to be turned 45 degrees by default. is there anyway to do this? I say somethng like it in a TD I played. |

you can do it in a variety of ways, triggers are a little bit dodgy in these circumstances in many conditions, but their probably the most accurate. |

Could someone give me an example? I want it to look like its turned the right way before I build it :D |

oh well the only way to do that is to edit the building default facing degrees in the gameplay constants, and that affects ALL buildings on the map. |

well, he /\ /\ <points up> 's right, however, you can base a building off of a unit and change its speed/turn speed to 0. |

but then it dosnt act like a building with placement, you dont get the green pathing box underneath. |

You can add that with some of the latest patches i believe. Mozared |

and theres the tiny problem that it would still show the build shadow at an angle of 270 degrees (orwhatever its default set at in constants) |

Just because an object is rotated doesn't mean that the position of the sun (or in this case, lighting) will change. That's like saying by turning, your shadow will rotate around you. |

what the hell? Thanks for that useless chunk of spam gearhead. |

Thats not spam. he's right. if your shade is on the right side, and you turn to your left, does your shade turn to your left as well? no, it stays turned to the same side. he said that as well. Mozared |

Yeah, I'm merely expressing that just because your orientation (no pun here, sorry) changes, doesn't mean the sun rotates around you. You see, if the sun is directly south of you, then your shadow is always north of you. If you turn 180 degrees, your shadow will not be south of you, but still north of you. |

Actually it is, and you should read. somebody posted a solution, and then ghost said "but the shadows will be f*cked up". we just proved this isn't so so he can use the earlier said solution. Mozared |
