Sure, the tinker is great, but guess what? Blizzard didn't tell us everything (or i am blind). Can you put 2 abilities of the same base on one unit? YUP! Now you can. What else have blizzard not told us about? |

Which abilities did you try this with? |

I searched the patch for .blp and found a couple that i don't think the world editor allow access to. One is a golden sword one is a skull with cork in it(think it is an item), and the last is a green bubble gun. If it is possible to access without exporting from patch, someone should post. Below are 2 of the icons that i hadn't deleted yet. |

These icons are nothing new, there is a whole LOT more of icons that can only be seen in the editor if you know the correct path to them. I have a list on my computer that I copied from a thread on these forums, if you are interested, do a little searching and you'll find it, there must be several dozens of hidden icons. I am quite interested about multiple (same) spells on one unit, I find it hard to believe. It would be nice if you could have several spells with same orderstrings but with different buffs to affect a single unit at once, though, but that is probably as difficult to do as having same abilities on one unit. |

Uhh... You've *always* been able to put multiple copies of the same base ability on one hero, just the effects are generally different depending on what the base spell is. Obviously on many it has no positive effect, but there are many others that produce variable results. It's been a long time since I've messed with them so I can only remember a couple (sorry). I wrote a list up, once, but it appears to have disappeared from the tut section. In any case, the Lich's Frost Nova is one such spell that garners interesting results from multiple copies of itself. For example: if you had three copies on one hero - a poison effect, a fire effect and the default ice effect and all three were researched, then whenever the player used the 'grouped' ability, it would cast one of the three at random, each with their own damage and splash damage output that you assigned in the ability editor - nifty for a general elemental attack, eh? If you had only one or two researched, then it would only cast out of the abilities you had points in. Other abilities like Polymorph and Dark Portal created some pretty cool results, too, if I recall correctly. From what you've said, it can only mean a good thing: that the Goblin's new abilities have some cool stackabl properties. *EDIT* Sorry, as I said, I'm a little rusty on the spells. While casting out of the three may seem at random, they actually create a pattern depending on what order you research the copies. */EDIT* ~kharma |

Actually it was not the goblin tinker's abilities. It was all set in motion by finding out that when my archers used 'draw sword', they then gained 'draw bow' of the swordsmen, unlike before 1.15. They had both of them, despite being based off bear form. And also Hardened Skin worked with it...this DID NOT work before (I know this). Someone test it with other abilities. |
