I like to draw, but I really suck. If I had a scanner I would show you. Is there any tips on how to draw a some-what good drawing?

Get to know human anatomy... at least muscle anatomy... I don't think anyone here draws organs.

Then just draw what you see... It's a lot harder than it sounds... I know.

But the thing when you are starting out is to draw things that you can use as references... DO NOT INTROVERT... it will make you extremely frustrated because you won't be able to draw what you think of in your head until you have your basic style down.

And Before Undertow can say it... I'll say to pre-sketch... draw a stick figure (to perspective) so that you can get the proportions right before you start the details.

DBZ seems to be a decent reference... just because the muscles are extremely exaggerated.

i draw anime, however, not in DBZ style

you actually start out drawing a "skeleton" layout, which includes a 3D shaped head/arms/biceps/legs

most importantly, you g2 learn perspective

i just doodle hella lot. i mean the margins of almost every paper i have is full of doodles. its fun, and a good way of passing the time in class. but whenever u can.. just draw. i do it whenever im bored and not in front of the computer.

I also drew my avatar on my wacom. if u ever get one.. jsut play around w/ colors. it'd also help if u took some art classes. the art classes i take dont help me at all(high school ones...) but i went to a college thingy for a school field trip and it helped a lot. i did figure drawings over and over again. u should do that too. jsut randomly choose someone and draw them.

I dont exactly use the whole skeletal-stick-figure-crap. well.. actually.. i do it sometimes.. but not when drawing faces. ill draw a cross to make sure the lines are straight so i dont have crooked eyes, but i dont draw out the whole skeleton of the body. but thats just me.. u can start out however u want.

and if u dont like drawing.. u can always paint. i love painting, it doesnt require much w/ a pencil.. u just have to be mroe dexterous w/ the paint brush and be able to mix paint. ull get used to it after a while. but the whole point is just to practice. not everyone in the world started out drawing shockingly amazing pieces of art. if i open up some of the pictures i drew from last year ago.. i think they look like total crap compared to how i draw now.... and thats just from one year. blah.. ill shut up now.. point is----practice a shiiiiit load, you'll get better.

Don't forget the concept of shaping - finding the simple geometric shapes of what you are trying to draw. I use that some (although very loosely).
Plus, try to study some of the raw art of the artists in the style you want to try. For example, when I got the D&D 3rd Edition Player's Handbook, I poured over Todd Lockwood's sketches of humanoid faces to better understand the process behind it.

Not much for me to say...

You must draw, and draw often.

If you're not that good then start out with the basics. Learn the human figure well, anatomy books will be a big help (if you can't get them go to a place anatomical references such as finarts.sk)

As for which method to start with skeletal or basic shapes... it depends on how well you know the body. And, what you have an easier time with.

Unless you know and have a specific style you only want to replicate - do realistic sketchy so you can get a handle on human bodyand perspectives. From there you can branch out yo any style you choose or develope.

Another thing that might help - dont just draw the image once - instead sketch out first the pose, angle perspective (using the skeletal method or blocking it in with shapes), then use that as a reference for a rough sketch (to kinda outline kinda what the image will look like), from there, basicly combine the two to make the final sketch (remember sketch it lightly), when it's satisfactory go back and darken the lines. So you'll have several pics to show the layout and several drafts and a final image (this practice is a bit repitative but it doesn't hurt).

If you find any pic (from whatever source) that has interesting pose, perspective or what not - try skething to see if you can capture the motion of that pic. Once down - try to incorporate it into one of your own pics.

There, a lot more to be said - but this will kinda get you pointed in a direction to follow.

it doesn't matter how good the drawing is as long as you enjoy making it. :D

so you wanna be better at drawing....

what the other said is true, so true.
my suggestion is to learn art first, 3d drawing from class, perspective, shading, folding cloth, etc... art has more thing to it, it doesn't look like it but it does. beside that i pass my art class last year with an A hahaha
practice make perfection, beside that, go read some of the tutorial on drawing, not in wc3 but there are other out in the world. follow their tutorials and copy what they do, after that start copy other picture. this past couple of days i read some and they suggest that you should copy other picture to know how the movement, position, perspective, etc work. after that start doodling and after that start drawing it up, but before this you must first need to have the heart for art and the imagination for art. if you can't imagine a bug, then how can you draw it. when you see a bug the image is put into your head, that how you are able to draw, so if you imagine it, it like taking a bigger step with out looking. if you are soo good at art you can close your eye and draw and ugly butterfly, lol. trust me i don't think nobody can draw a beautiful butterfly while closing their eyes.

my first post in years lol. last year anyways
