Basically I was wondering what kind of map you people like to play, or would like to see become. It could be from a new genre type, a project that's being worked on, a new system, etc... What would you like to see in a map, or what kind of map would you like to see? Mine... An RPG with a combo system. |

All polls belong in general wc3 development, not trigger haven. |

This is going somewhere. FYI, this doesn't look like a poll to me buddy. |

Stop the pre-flames guys. Anyways, you mean the Combo System I might end up doing... (Just so you know the pain, 20,000 unique combos.) <Yea, it's crazy> |

I have an idea of a hero map, possibly an Arena type. The spells are constructed with different magical energies (inspired by the spellcraft map, and the trading card game MTG; you would have Earth, Fire, Water, Life, Lightning and Magic "mana"); from basic elemental spells that are derived from only one type of "mana" (a classic MTG term) and grow in power with the ammount of mana spent, to constructed spells (mana burn would be, for example, a combination of fire, lightning and magical mana). Mana is derived from items (charged or permanent), and when you use an item you gain a mana that will follow the hero and dissipate after a while, unless you use it for a spell. Basically, all a hero needs is a single spell whit which he selects a target, and then a spell is cast depending on what mana he has around himself. This changes the system drastically from normal WC3, as you have to do some clicks to get a spell (experienced players will use hotkeys to item slots), and think a bit, especially when new combinations arise. To get even more depth, I would add rune items that create runes in the same way that elemental items produce mana: the runes follow the same rules as mana, they are spent on spells andthey have a limited duration. but while the mana only powers your spells, the runes have a special impact: a summoning rune would make the next spell cast a summon spell, a rune of transference would give your mana active to the target instead of casting a spell, thus allowing a teammate to cast a more powerfull spell, or destroying opponents mana (incompatible mana like life and fire or water and fire would destroy one another, that is, unless you had another rune that prevented them from doing so), a rune of IDontKnowANameYet would pause mana decay for it's duration, allowing a player to accumulate more mana for a single spell, and a rune of Shielding would protect the hero from all elemental spells that use the same mana that the hero has around him at the moment. Man, this is turning into another long post, and i thought it was just a short idea. :) Well, basically it's simple, just do a lot of combining to get the right spell at the right time, and teamwork and tactical decisions, which items you need, which to sell, which to give to your teammates, which to buy, and of course quite intense gameplay, if you have the mana/rune duration/mana item cooldowns around 6 seconds, that's quite click intensive and also diferent from the standrad war3 engine powered stuff... Fun to play for the more demanding audience, I guess... |

I'm sorry, but according to Cubasis, my job is to move threads from the Trigger Haven that aren't involving triggers. Your question and all the posts I saw following it weren't trigger realted, so I moved it. If you have a relating trigger question, either make it part of the initial question, or create a new thread for that in the Trigger Haven. If I have missed the trigger part of your question, i.e: A direct question about a trigger before the thread was move, I apologize and will return it if you can it to me. |
