do bad reputations on this site go away? i posted a swastika and everyone got the intention that i was a nazi. |

No, they don't go away, but if you get enough positive reputation it offsets the negative. |

that was your problem in the first place other ppl viewed your "nazi" comment toward Counterstrike at Quel'Thelas as an insult to the campaign. |

i wasnt insulting anyone, it could have been any mod or map, and why would anyone even bother giving someone a positive reputation? ive only got once ever |

If you're nice and helpful, people might well give you reputation. |

mistakes are made. wether they are due to people not reading a post carefully enough, reading into things that arnt there, or mearly from unforseen circumstances. the only way to rectify this is be useful to the community, and maby put a note in your sig asking for good rep if you help someone out |

Glitch hit the nail on the head. |

Yeah. I guess the best way to get your reputation up is to post a lot of useful things... err... Help people. I don't know what you are able to do all in all, but still, everyone is able to help people with something. I can't promise you'll get reputation by it since there are some people (or so I think) who rather give 'negative' votes then positive votes. Or you could give Whitehorn's (I thought it was Whitehorn at least) reputation game in the off-topic section, if that thread is still open that is. Yeah, well, good luck :D -Fladian |

ive already asked this in another thread, but i somwhat suspect its not getting any mod attention (due to its location) appart from Whitehorn. There have been mentions of reputation mod (perhaps by mods or parhaps not. my memories a little hazy), is this a possability currently being considered? if not will it become considered? and if it dose happen will pointless rep spamming that has already occured be removed, i appear to be attracting pointless rep on a monumental leval. |

You mean that only mods may give reputations? If so, then it was only a suggestion, nothing has been said about it... yet. Or at least, if I'm not mistaking that is. Many people thought that would be a good idea, including myself, now I am getting some doubts though. As example, at some places mods aren't all that active. People that only stick there don't get much reputation. So, that's just what I think. Personally I would think that people who are either very active/helpful or a long forum member that they need a small boost in their reputation. As example, without a doubt (I know he's a mod though) Whitehorn and Draco are known by the entire forum. Well, just my 2 cents :) -Fladian |

I mean that mods could remove reps given if theyre just spam. everyone would still be able to give rep |

Oh hehe, sorry Gitlich, I understood it wrong. I had a visitor as well, so I was not paying enough attention. Well, I didn't heard anything about it, I do say 'How do they know it is pointless spam for the reputation' (sorry bit weird said) Perhaps some people deserve a low reputation. So, how would they know it? |

Well, considering how much my moraitly conflicts with almost everyone elses, ultimately i probably do deserve a low rep, but there are some that i cannot find any reasoning behind. such as a gray rep with no comment for the post. Quote:

Agreed, often reputation is given without a good justification or for some idiot reason. I myself asked a few days ago if it was possible to transfer animations to only a part of a model. I'm able to do some mdl editing and I'm trying to improve myself and, though someone obviously considered this as spam, the answer was important for me. Today I got for this single little question a bad reputation saying "Yes it is obvious. Obviously you don't know the meaning of MDL edit. Thank you for your time." I mean, I usually don't give bad reps, I even maybe give too easily good reps, but I think people should only give bad reputation if you believe someone is doing bad things on the forum, making fun of people's work, being agressive, never helping, ... I might be a newbie, but I'm improving everyday with simple questions like that, and the knowledge I gain I never keep for myself. Sad to see that a forum where people should help each other in the desire to create worlds with the most wonderful editor ever created should be turned in a place where you can be attacked just because you ask one simple question by people who forget they once where newbs too. Sorry for bothering you with my problems, but I needed it. |
