Is it possible to replace unit sounds?

Hey guys i just wanted to know if replacing the original unit sounds is possible, e.g attack sound, death sound.. etc..

If there is a way then tell me.. please

I dunno...but u replaced music in your map I think ,don't it works with sounds also?

i did it but you have to make new folders in your war3 directory like Units/Human/Peasant

only thing is that every time you play with someone else that doesn't have the sound, you have to change the name of the Units folder (i do it 1units) or it will give you an error.

Reword that anathema... This is a problem I am trying to work with also. Can't get custom units to get custom .wav sounds, like you still keep the Sorceress Sounds when you make the sorceress have a Rifleman Model...

Well, I think this would work in theory:

Say you wanted to replace a peasant's sound. Find the sound that it is right now in the mpq, and note the path and file. Then create your own wav, and give it the same name, and put it in your .w3m with the same path. I think that'll work.

That sounds like it should work, but I'm talking about custom units. Say all the custom units were made after the Mountain King, and so they all had the sounds and speech of a Mountain King.

But, to edit the sound, you make custom sounds with the same name under the Mountain King. Now, the custom unit works, but the unit it was based on has the same speech as the custom unit.

Well, I guess you could just get a special hero like, for example, Sylvanas Windrunner... and since she is a special hero you probably wouldn't have her in any maps you make with the custom unit.
