Ok, im a n00bie skinner (yes, i said n00bie) and i need help, i just made an abomination skin and i wanna see how it looks in teh actual game. So, im hopping along the yellow brick road of about everything there is to having more than one skin of a model to a map AAANNNDDD i have no idea what the heck to do! Oh my good golly gosh! Whatever should i do! (ok ill stop with the fiary tale voices) Ok, i got all the files. but when i went to www.simods.org/wcwarehouse/ the explanation didnt fit in with anything. AAANNNDDD when i tried to load my abomination skin using wc3 Image Extractor 2 it said something like "compression is invalid". AAANNNDDD when i used Yogdul's File converter, it said something like memory, reading, invalid. (the 3 bad words nobody wants to hear). So can somebody gimme a tutorial all from the beginning and a way to fix teh problems i am having?

Dude use Warcraft III Viewer

http://www.wc3sear.ch/index.php?p=Tools&ID=11&sid=

Basically open Wacraft III Viewer up (After Installation) and in the top right there should be a ? > BLP button click that select you skin and press open then save then a another window will open and just press save.

Also if you want to extract tft skins from just do open MpQ and in the main Warcraft III folder there should be a warcraftx.mpq open that

And for extracting a skin just select it and right click just press extract file and convert to bmp, jpg, tga

Crap just realized that this Dragon guy revived the thread sorry to everyone

Please add to my reputation cause I helped

:\ This sort of thing is being posted a little to much guys.
Minimum 3 programs noobies should get. Any preferences to similar programs are fine but these are the basic crucial function tools (I'm not counting art or modelling progs):

Techmpq - Imports\exports all war3 files including mp3s.
War 3 Viewer 2 - Imports\exports\views Blp and Mdx files.
War 3 file converter - Ummmm ..... der. anybody modelling needs this.

I'm not linking them cause I'm lazy and if your not prepared to search, stiff. Dragonsheaperd, I think this is something to do with installation path, look at the readme file in the original zip. If not get back to me.

:( whoah, Lost me now. Try installing WAR3 again, somebody might be able to confirm it but I seem to remember you need to back up files in the original war3 directory. They might have been replaced.

Aside from that, Ordinal errors are usually problems relating to version incompatibility, have you been updating your warcraft 3 ???

I agree, try reinstalling warcraft 3. It says it cant find an ordinal in the link to warcraft 3 (meaning: a link is supposed to point to a certain file, and that link cant be found)
