I tried to make a hero version of war club with a custom hero that using all of the MG model and attack1 and attack2 stats, but when i use it the interface that displays attack damage dissappears. The hero MG can still attack but it doesnt show the interface until the war club is gone. I tried a regular non-hero ability of war club and the same thing happened. I think it might be due to how hero get their damage rating from their attributes. Does any one know if it is possible to get a hero war club ability that works with the interface? o_O :( If you do get it to work, please attach a sample map. THX, themicroant |

Well, you're already doing better than I previously thought possible. Afore patch 1.15, or maybe 1.13, if you modded the War Club, it really didn't do anything at all, and if you modded the War Club on a Mountain Giant and placed one, he'd crash the game. I don't suppose that heros have their Attack 2 UI turned off? Look at the hero fields for something like "Show UI" and see if it's True for Attack 2. Tell me if it works, and tell me more about what you've tried if it doesn't. |

Well, what the spell does do is not crash WC III, it does correctly pick up the tree and applies new settings like range and attack speed, and it last however many hits and everything goes back to normal after the ability is done. What it doesn't do is show anysort of UI icon for the attack after the tree is picked up. Even when attacks enabled is set to none. Another thing it does do is move the Defense type down and leaves room for a UI attack icon and a black space there instead. Attached is a map that I have been using to test. I have tried many things on the actual map the ability is for. I don't know what else to test. I'll let someone else try it. |

I'll have a look. Did you try my suggestion? |

Panto's right. The 2nd attack for heroes is by default set to hidden interface, it's the one used for Orb attacks. So don't have Orbs in your map if you plan to do this. |

You do have the field "Combat - Attack 2 - Show UI" set to "False". I changed it to True and tried the map out. Well, the ability is still buggy. It does not show attack 2, even now, although he does have it. However, after the 15 strikes is done, the Mountain Giant still has an attack, and that attack shows up in the status card. I'm investigating if there's a reason for this, or if it's a bug related to the War Club. EDIT: Interesting, the Enabled Attack Index and Disabled Attack Index by default don't accept values other than 0 or 1. I shift-clicked to make it Enable attack 2, for testing. EDIT2: Hilarious. Enabling attack 2 makes it enable nothing. EDIT3: Indeed, even though the unit has no attacks to begin with, using the War Club enables his attack 2, and then when it's expired, attack 2 is disabled and attack 1 is enabled, apparently unalterably. I'm uploading the altered map so that you can see for yourself. Attack 1 is set to attack flying with a chaos attack. |

I've been playing around with this myself, and found the same problem: Attacks added by a war club ability to heroes show no UI icon, even if it is set to on in the unit properties. A few other things I've noticed about it: - It only seems to work when targetting destructibles. It can be set to target debris (Barrels, etc...) and work properly, but it doesn't seem to work when targetting units. - Destructibles killed by a war club ability behave a bit strangely. For example, if the destructible is resurrected by a trigger after being killed by war club, it will not show the 'stand' animation as it will when killed by any other means and then resurrected, but rather be stuck showing the 'decay' animation: Not even using the 'Animation - Play destructible animation' can counteract this, for some reason. Using a trigger to kill the destructible and then resurrecting it again does restore its proper animation, though. |

Well i guess the war club ability cannot currently behavior totally correct yet, it behaves better than when it crashed WC III. Hopefully this is a bug and will be corrected in an upcoming patch. Panto, thanks for the help. I'll try again after the next patch. |
