if you shrink units in world editor will it reduce lag, and also how do you create anew game camera. because if it does reduce lag then i will need the camera to be closer to showmore detail on the models

to reduce lag, lower down on the heros and units w/ high polies such as furion stormrage. creating a new game camera wont reduce the lag, but to create one, press "m" to open the camera palette"

set the camera to how you like it and use this trigger:
event: elapsed time is 0.01 seconds
action: apply camera for player over 0.00 seconds

sry buddy, more units will always = more lag, no way to avoid. something to look into though is a way to illusion less lag, increasing move speed. it sometimes helps, sometimes it doesn't, i dont know y.

thats a good idea but if its a jolty lag then the unit will be sprinting at some times and walking at others.

paulH, what type of map are you making anyway, an rpg, aos, melee?

Cutting down on doodads also helps.
If its not a base building type map and there arent any flying units that players control your forests could just be a line of trees; no need for trees inside the forests.

this is for the lotr rpg, so i can have massive battles. and the camera part is so the stuff on the map will look just as big as usual but it will be alot smaller

I think you're just going to have to be hamstrung by the limitations of the game. Having tons of units means lots of processing.

Try to think of ways to cut down the total number of units while keeping the "feel" of a big battle.
