ok, first question, when i try to export my model with a skin on it, it says:

the following textures do not have a power of 2, have a width ratio of larger than 8:1, or have a dimesion larger than 512.

then my skin name.

What does it mean? Also, when i export my models with Republica's MDL/MDX
exporter, it says: Shield.mdl and works, (sheild is the name of my model) but doesn't work in the editor. When i click export in the rolldown in files, it says Shield.MDX but does that stupid skin thing. So what is the difference between mdl. and .MDX? and whats my stupid skin problem?

It means that your TGA is sized incorrectly. The width or length must be 2^n and lower than 512. That means things like 256x256, 128x128, 256x128, 64x64, etc work. Also, the width can't be more that 8 times the length, or the other way around.
