Guest | Hmm, well no, but I use the MP3´s from AoE2 ( Microsofts Age of Empire 2 ) They sound pretty good, adventures etc... Maybe you could try to find them, or find the game. |

Guest | I've got a pretty goofy song I originally developed for an audio sketch about orcs, which sounds a lot like the "Leave it to Beaver" theme, but with lots of tri-tone scales. It's a rar'ed mp3. It's a rough arrangement, but I can expand it, if you like, as long as you gimme credit... btw, give the song a little time! |

Guest | How long do you want it? Perhaps a 4 minute bed to play under a whole map? That's what I was thinking, but I just posted the initial sketch to give you a taste of what the song sounded like. John |

Guest | I did a three minute version, because it worked out musically that way. I've got a lot of extra stuff in there, which is entertaining, but I admit might get old after about ten hearings or so... anyway, I can give you a version with just music, but I wrote the extra material with vocals in mind, so I'll have to do a little extra work to spice it up... Anyway, here it is! Rar'd mp3, as per usual. Oops! Guess the file was too big! I'll try again... *** Still to big... damn... Ahhh, screw this post! E-mail me at [email protected], and I'll respond with an attachment - it's almost 3 megs. |

Guest | Most audio editors will allow you to record whatever's coming through the output of your sound card - just load up any program that will play midis - (winamp does) press record in the recorder, and play on winamp, and you're all set... or, of course, you can directly record your MIDI output as well - that's always an option. There are MIDI to WAV renderers out there (try the Shareware Music Machine, though their downloads more often than not are broken) - most shareware sites should have something if you do a phrase search "MIDI to WAV", but like I said, you're probably better off doing it the clunky way, because you can directly control how the music will sound before you even hit record. For instance, the song I sent along I composed in Cakewalk, and then opened up Cool Edit Pro, made sure the soundcard was set to record "what u hear", hit record in Cool Edit, and then Play in Cakewalk. Granted, I did a bit more of a complicated setup, in that I recorded the percussion, strings, and winds seperately so I could specifically tailor the sound to my liking afterward with reverb and chorus and such, and also so I could control balance on mixing. This is always a good idea, if you want a more professional sound on your MIDI dumps - try to isolate seperate TYPES of instruments, so you can balance to your heart's content later. But, of course, that's a little more advanced than what I get the feeling you're wanting to do, so I'll leave it at that. Toke up, indeed! John |
