I need help with something i haven't been able to do, ever. now i actually NEED to do it because it's more then just a fun thing in my map and well, my question is as follows: How to add, to a hero abilty, like in this case: Breath of Frost, the abilty slowed. There is an abilty called slow and that is what all the ice spells use, Frost Nova, Frost Armor and the Nerubian Tower slow. However, when i add it as buff on my ability, it refuses to function. Why!? And i would also apreciate an asnwer to my question ^^. - MilkmaN |

First of all, buff's do nothing more than show effects and the icon on the unit's buff list. As far as I know, all abilities that use the "slowed" ice effect have that coded into the ability its self, aka hardcoded. To add the slowed ability to another ability you can try the following: 1. Detect when your ability is casted 2. Detect the units effected by your casted ability 3. Create a invisible flying unit with no shadow in the object editor, give him an ability, or an attack that does the slow effect, make sure the ability's dmg is 0, or attack dmg is 1 4. Create a caster unit and have it cast the effect onto the effected unit. |

the % of ice slow is under gameplay constants, its not in every single ability |

The gameplay constant's cold only affects those whose spell has that cold effect encoded to it. |

Well, the way that you described could work but you see, It is an area effect spell. I based it off Breath of Frost and with it, no slow comes. However, if i base it off Frost Nova, the Animation is anything but nice. Wops, re-read your post and now i see what you want. Well, can't do anything but try it. Thanks. - Milkman |
