Final Fantasy Conversion

This would be a HUGE campaign to take on... but I want to do a complete remake of Final Fantasy One for WarIII.

It is hard to say how it would turn out... but I am already making the maps to re-create the original FF world.

This project would take a VERY long time, but with help this could be one of the coolest WarIII mod/campaigns ever. There are a lot of possibilities... Email me at [email protected] if you want to work on it with me.

This will take a lot of triggers, and custom graphics.

if you really want to do that then talk to skull. he may set up a forum for it and you can recruit people there. however, i would not work on that until the game is out or there could be compatibility issues if blizz changes a bunch of stuff when they release it. so pm skull or ask him in IRC about it

although i dont have much time i would be interested in helping. I dont even have my nintendo anymore but i still have Final Fantasy. I dont know about a total remake. seeing as how you'd have to leave out the ship/canoe parts. zep could sub for a good airship. i kind of remember most of the layout for the world. but how would you suggest doing all the interiors w/ out all the right textures. Seems like this would be easier to start planning now, and make once the game is released so we could get all the cityscape and dungeon textures. Either way i'd be glad to help however i can.

The only thing really stopping the creation of sea units actually is a good pathing editor ;)

I'm not an expert on it but I'm pretty sure that's all that stops you from moving on foot into a water space.

Maybe you can pm someone to help you make a model of Cloud and some other. It well be interesting. Maybe you can place that model into the human race so instead of somewhere else like nateral hostile or nature

Clouds FF7 Darkforce data angel you could make a steam tank go thru shallow water it kinda looks like a boat/sub (if you drop it 2 levels into shallow ness)

darkforce: lol. ff1 only let you select your characters by what they did: ie. fighter, ninja, red mage, black mage, white mage, and i think 1 other. ninja was actually after you upgraded too i think.

weaaddar: i thought of that too. but that takes away the whole fighting on the water unless you just make the tank unload. but then if you can already walk. most ppl probably wouldn't even bother with the tank. unless i'm not fully understanding what your saying.

besides i think there was enough roaming around forests and the volcano to make a good campaign. ship/canoe where kind of a small part in the game. unless i'm forgetting something. been a while since i played it.

i think you can actually download the game and an emulator from somewhere on the web. i know they have all the old atari games.

I dont know how much anyone liked it but the dragon warrior series (think thats what it was called) was another good rpg that could be turned into a campaign.

i do remember quite a few portals tho, near the end of the game that the waygates (cant remember what they're called if thats nots it) would be perfect for.

how bad would it destroy the whole concept of this conversion to leave out the water parts and just use the gates from the beginning to get from each area?

and lastly, if this is actually something ppl want to get involved in doing, then lets try to remember some of creeps in the game and think how we could make something similar in wc3.

If i remember correctly Garland was one of the first main bosses (and i think he was also the last if i'm not mistaking). I think the demon hunter would work well for him, think he was a dark elf or something anyways.

........

Ok when I play 1.21 Is so dumb. Like this.
You know the Legend map that have a dragon in the middel?
I can't upgrade my patch that time cause my patch was screw some how. I can't find the bridge in legend. My men just plop down into the water and climb back up on the other side. Same with steam tank.

I'd be interested in converting FF3 on SNES rather than FF1, but oh well :)
