Greetings, There seem to be a lot of advanced tutorials on this forum but nothing about the basics. Can somebody tell me how to: -get the right program -remove hero glow from a model -put the model in a map |

i did the tutorial for improrting files and managed to get it right first try ^_^ ! I havn't downlaoded the file converter because I don't know what to do with it, the "Hero glow" tutorial doesn't cover the basic of, say, opening the mdl/mdx or whatever. One last question: do models work in multiplayers maps? I remember vaguely hearing that they didn't at one point. |

The file converter is extremely easy to use. The interface consists of a tiny number of buttons for different conversions, all of which are clearly labeled. The gist is that you can EDIT mdl's in notepad, but mdx files are considerably smaller (and easier to deal with in WE), so you convert back to mdx when you're all done. If you have the computer savvy to post messages in this forum, I promise you have the know-how to use yobgul's converter. All you have to do is convert a desired mdx to an mdl, and open it in notepad and start editing. Fear not; models definitely are usable in multiplayer. |

Ok, thanks! I'll just go and downlaod it then. The only reason i thought that models may not work on b.net is that I havn't seen any maps with models in them (except the ninja one). |

ok, there is only one last thing I need/need to know: How do i get Units\Creeps\HeroTinker\HeroTinker.mdx out of the editor? I can't export things that are not already in the import manager and can't get the .mdx into it. |

Use WinMPQ, which is available in the downloads section. Just click 'Open MPQ', open the war3patch.mpq, and browse. |

I wrote in another thread to OinkerWinkle saying I had sucessfully created a glow-less Tinker model. It worked a treat but now that I go back into my WE to have a look at it the glow seems to have come back! :o what did i do wrong??! |
