W3 Reseter by BlacKDicK

This tool resets your W3 RoC to original version 1.0.0.It WILL NOT WORK with
the FT Beta. Please DO NOT place this tool on W3 folder. Instead, create a
folder to it. It should work with any W3 version unless Blizz does somemething
really drastic to W3 version patching.

Usage: Close W3 and editor and run this proggy.

BTW, it checks the Registry bellow to discover where the W3 RoC is installed.
"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Blizzard Entertainment\Warcraft III\InstallPath"

Version: 1.0.2 (05/10/2003)
* Added a small check to avoid reseting of the FT Beta.

Version: 1.0.1 (11/08/2002)
* Added map restoring to be compatible with 1.04.

Version: 1.0.0 (10/21/2002)
* First Release.

Great idea, but is there a real use to it? You cant get on bnet with it, and it would only change the single player game, and 1.03 is better than 1.00 in my opinion. Maybe if there was a really practical use to it, it would be useful. Or if you had an idea for it in mind, then say so, since i dont see one (not trying to flame, just saying.):D

If you edit the patch mpq extensively and haven't backed up the old mpq it means that you don't have to reinstall warcraft to get it back to normal. I'm guessing this is the aim of it?

archersRCheap: You could always use it to look at old replays of WC3.

Well, it can be usefull in 2 ways:

1) You messed up with your patch mpq.
2) If you're using non-original files like pvpgn loaders, no-cd crap and new patch comes out and you don't have "back-ups" of original versions to apply the patch. In this case, "reset" it back to 1.00 and apply the patch.

I know it does not seems to be usefull, but sometimes you need to reinstall the whole game back and this can save you plenty of time.

ShadowFlare
You could use my mpq api for extracting the files. It is completely stormless. This would make it so the program could be put just anywhere. If you are using microsoft visual c++, you can also make it so that your program doesn't need an extra dll file, although this doesn't really matter. :sweatdrop Another advantage to using my mpq api is that someone would still be able to use your program if they somehow got their storm.dll corrupted, deleted, etc.

Ok, i guess there are some uses to it. But it seems kinda stupid that you would make a program to protect newbie modders from themselves. Yea if a new patch comes out and all that, but im not sure if to many ppl will use it for that.

Yeah I know ShadowFlare. I started it using your SFapi but changed to storm since the user "is suposed to have" storm.dll and thus I could reduce the file size.

BTW ShadowFlare, take a look on http://athena2000.myrice.com/mpq/ . There are some "extra" functions that might be usefull adding to your storm.bas (I added some). Also, a second tip: "enum" is a reserved word on VB6 so please just make a "cosmetic" change on WINMPQ to avoid VB6 users changing it by hand.

Blizz Reseter by BlacKDicK

This tool can RESET Blizzard games to their original versions.
By "RESET" I mean restore the original game files to as close
as possible to a clean install. If you messed with your game
files but don´t want to re-install all the game back, this tool
is a must for you. Note that I don´t support loaders, virtual
cracks, no-cd stuff or any ILEGAL stuff, so if any of those files
are detected, they will also be removed. Keep in mind that the
purpose of this tool is to restore the game to a clean install,
and those ILEGAL files are not included with the original
Blizzard clean installs. This tool is free, just give me some
credit. Also note that since it is free, no support will be given
and I´m not responsible in any ways for any damage to your game
files. By using it you agree that you are on your own risk.
If you don´t agree with the terms above, don't use it.

Usage: Close all your Blizz Games and run this tool. Then choose
a game from the supported games list and choose the Reset Option
you want to use and click RESET.

NOTE: This is still a BETA version, so it may have some bugs, it
is not finished yet, so more games will be supported soon.
If anything goes wrong, you might need to remove the game and
reinstall it. If you find any bug, please let me know.

Version 1.5.2 (11/14/2003)

I am curious. When you say it will remove illegal loaders and junk, does that mean it removes anything in the directory. I just want to know, because I have over 30 war 3 tools and all the files from all the MPQs saved in subfolders in the war 3 directory.

Also, will it delete saved games/profiles/maps/replays?
