Ever made a Custom Hero that you liked and though was balanced really well? I noticed some good heroes In Maps like Tides of Blood, and WarChasers, Anyone see one they made, or liked?
Personally I liked the Blade Berserker from WarChasers, and the BloodMage from Tides of Blood, but even the New Goblin Alchemist looks cool (note: its no really a custom, But I'm taking it as one for now)

I spouse this thread could be of use in people tryign to create good, fun to play heros.

Anyway the heros from the later ROC cersions of DOTA were very good, no so much on thier technical aspect (which at the time was excelent) but the skills wer ewell thought out, balanced and suited the heros, so just examine them.

i created a cool Ghost Mage off of the Ghost Antonidas model, and he has 2 original spells (silence and rain of fire) and 2 redone spells (dark portal and doom). dark potal the mage putting his staff in the air then swinging it across him and the portal model opens in front of him and skeletons come out. doom sees the targetted unit expolding into 6 fleshy sludges.

The original version of Defense of the Aincents really had superbly designed heroes. It made the map really fun to play. There is a TFT version of DotA that is very similar to the original, with minimal changes, but I don't see it played on bnet... all people play nowdays is some "dota allstars" ripoff...

I've got some nice heros im working on. Why don't we post whole heroes here!! :> here's my first 1:

Lobster Mage: intelligence, ranged, 20-level, very green-looking

Parasite: makes little hermit crabs on enemy death, they have modified/renamed Drunken Brawler. doesn't improve summon stats, but increases summoned duration and buff damage-over-time.

Scoprion Familiar: think Misha, then make it a green scorpion with Burrow (lv. 2+) and an über anti-air attack (lv.3, triggered to play spell animation. looks awesome.) permanent so you can keep one around all the time!

Termite Power: modified Eat Tree with triggered FX. looks cool, fiend-missle bugs go to tree, kill it, then come back.

Attribute bonus:filler. 3 lvls.

Hydra of the Abyss: big hydra with ranged chaos dmg, negative regeneration, and an Absorb Life ability (works like Absorb Mana). When it dies 3 Hydra Heads (with kaboom) pop out and kill stuff.

post ur own heroes! ^_^ heros r fun.

Well, I'm working on a few different maps right now, one a zone control and the other an RPG. So I got quite a few custom heros. One cool one (not quite balanced, but very cool, and killable) is the Elementalist. He has 4 of basically the same skills and one ultimate. His 4 basic skills are all based off of Locust Swarm, but they summon different elements (Earth, Ice, Fire, and Lightning). They all have a pheonix fire based skill with different animations...The earth is a flying rock that shoots poison darts (scary) Ice is a frost bolt that shoots lich's attack. Fire is invisible (glitch) and shoots pheonix fire. And thunder is a lightning orb that shoots lightning orbs lol. His ultimate is based off of monsoon. He's pretty kick-ass in the RPG ^^.

I like the lobster mage.

Here's my little BeastMaster replacement:

Tuskar Hunter - A skillful tracker that uses his animal companions from the north to aid him in combat: strength based hero
He's a ranged hero, using a hunting spear as his weapon.

Summon Snow Wolf: A quick powerful snow wolf. Very speedy but average attack cooldown. level 2 has evasion. level 3 has snow cubs ability. When a level 3 snow wolf dies (not expired) 2 snow cubs are summoned. snow cubs also have evasion and are well, weaker than the snow wolf.

Summon Scorpion: Summons a scorpion; can have multiple of these. Scorpions have high armor but less than average HP. They also have high attack rate and are ranged. Low damage but short cooldown. Level 2 has burrow and level 3 can attack while burrowed. When burrowed scorpions have no armor and at level 3 their attack is weaker, has longer cooldown and shorter range.

Frozen Spearheads (passive): Gives him a % chance to freeze enemies (like frostwyrm ability).

Call of the North: Summons a Wooly Mammoth. High HP and attack. Has Taunt, Resistant Skin, Skewer and Frozen Tusks. Skewer allows him to attack enemies in a line (like the glaive thrower) and Frozen Tusks gives him a chance to freeze enemies (like Frozen Spearheads).

I made some short videos of the heroes coming in ToB N a while back. Release has been delayed because of a harddrive failure but you can still check them out:

Porphyria Pyrophora (3.1 megs).
El Toro (1.7 megs)

You'll need the latest DivX codec to play these.
