Help With Low/High Angle

Im having trouble drawing low and high angle pictures. I understand that there is a lot of distortion and the legs are huge in a low angle shot, but I can't get the proportions right, and the steps I take do not give me the right results.

ah, if your perspective is from the top, make the head huge extending to the feet, getting rapidly smaller
if your perspective is from the bottom, make the legs huge and continue on to a smaller head
adding dynamics would also help, meaning things to exaggerate your drawing

I understand how that works, but the actual proportions is what Im having trouble with. Like, should the legs be twice as tall as the torso, etc.

Ok, you know how to draw perspective right? I'm assuming that you do, so here is (in theory) how you would do it.

Pick a vanishing point somewhere on your paper. The higher up it is, the lower your angle will be, and vice versa. Now, draw a square somewhere around the bottom of the paper, and connect the vertices of the square to your vanishing point. The body will be contained within this square. This is your basic outline. After this point, it really is dependent upon the angle you chose to draw at. There is no way that I can tell you the proportions. You really just have to eye it and have a knack for figuring out what looks right or wrong. If you know your basic proportions and reference points, then you should be ok. Good luck and show us the results!

once you understand where everything goes you can foreshorten how ever you want, but the whole "figure is 8 heads tall" is for a 6 foot guy.Not everyone has the same poportions, just something to keep in mind.

If your having trouble with drawing, you can study Loomis .His stuff helped me tremendously. :D

, keep drawing!
