Importing limits :(

OK, so i made some amazing progress on a mod i was working on, after lots of choosing cool models from the DL section, and after recieving tons and tons of guidance from the forums. I'm actually starting to become an ok map maker. Thanks, everyone!

HOWEVER! Since i've been using the 'test map' function to test all my stuff, i've recently dicovered that when i try to actually play the map for real with my friends, the map size is too big. As in like its 6 mb too big. This is pretty much due to all the etra models and skins and such i have imported.

My question is besides complicated map protection methods, and skin modification methods, how can i get this map to still run? I've been told that MPQ'ing the files into the map as opposed to importing them doesn't work. I'm also guessing that WE unlimited really doesn't affect how many imports you can bring in.

If anyone would like to share some methods for trying to ger REALLY big maps to run, i'd really appreciate it.

Unfortunately, Battle.Net has a limit of 4mb for maps played on it. You can't raise or lower this limit, so your only real option is compressing your map. You can't really do much to make models smaller, but you could try lowering the quality of your skins (by changing their size/resolution) and using Heavy Locker to lower filesize.

Good luck getting it to work.
