Problem with models

When I import an *.mdx file it seems to work. I always import textures and everything that model needs as in readme file. But it doesn't work, because when I'm selecting *.mdx as the units model this ************ editor renames it to *.mdl. I tried everything but there's no way to solve this problem. Can anybody help me? PLEASE!!! :(

It's supposed to do that. If the model isn't showing ingame or WE, then the model/texture's at fault.

It's model from wc3sear.ch (FIREBAT made by Yoda_24)! I'm so confused :(
Why it's supposed to do that?? What may be wrong with texture?? I have done everything as the readme said

The Object Editor (God knows why...) always renames .MDX files to .MDL files. It's crazy, but that's what it does.

If your model isn't showing up ingame, then all I can suggest is testing that it works by importing it into a clean map.

Okay, theres only one thing i can do else... manually edit the w3u file (with Transelhextion). Maybe it will work.

Are you really sure you used the right import path for all the textures ? You can chack by converting the mdx to a mdl file with Yogbul's file converter, open the mdl in notepad and look at the textures' paths. I've already been using this model and it works fine for me.

I dunno, but I'm not sure that you always need to put Textures in front. Sometimes you can just leave it as a "war3imported" or whatever its called.
Otherwise, are your "//" thingies the right way? Thats the wrong way btw, its supposed to be in the opposite direction, but I don't have it on my keyboard (damn french keyboards).

Athelas, j'ai un clavier français et il y a un "antislash", tape [alt gr] [ _ ] (en tout cas c'est comme ça sur mon portable).

The only way to be sure that you've got the right textures' path for a model is to check in the model itself, either by converting it to mdl or by opening it with war3viewer and using the "textures used" function. If you have already tried to close and reopen WorldEdit to make sure the imported model has been loaded, and unless the download contained the paths and you think they are not wrong, I'd advise you to try this.

Ouais, un PC. Donc je peux écrire un antislash mais j'ai droit à tous les virus du monde.
Désolé d'avoir commencé le spam, on va se faire jeter, si jamais t'as encore un truc à dire on continue par PM.

Thank you very much for help. Armel's "notepad solution" were first to (i've just renamed texture paths as i have in my import manager) and it worked. One more time:thank you.
