I remember long ago when I first came here someone posted a topic about fixing you World Editor so that you can Object Edit names and other stuff faster then it is now. |

Theres a number of ways to speed up WE: take away the object list that resides beneath the minimap and previewer on the left side of the editor. this can really speed stuf up, not sure why, but it helps a lot, especially at start up. the other thing is hit ctrl+alt+del, and then go to processes, find the WE process, right click and change the priority. this gives more mem and processor time to WE, making it run better. theres a tut on this here. its go a better description, and some of the limitation. i dont think it works unless ur using windows xp or 2k, but u better check out the thread, its got the lot. theres another like it in the tut section by vexorian, u could check that out too. |

I dont recommend changing the priority above normal... infinite loops in WE during compile, and other errors are bad enough. But if it has priority above normal, windows wont be able to close it or stop the process for a long, long time. |

i have never run into trouble with setting the priorty above normal, even closing WE abnormally, but i might have just been lucky. like i said, im not a guru on the subject, so dont take what i said as a rule. ud be better checking the tut sites i put in, they have all the info u need. im not sure what u mean by the check box. can u be more specific? another thing i jsut thought of, tho im not sure if this applies: theres a gem icon in the bottom right corner of the WE. if GEM IS ACTIVATED comes up when u click it, its on. this causes units and doodads to make sounds when u click them, and also use their die animations when u delete them. this can drastically slow down your computer if its not really hot. dont think it should be a problem, but just a point of note, just in case. |
