I'm just having hell of a lot of trouble with snowy tilesets (especially Lordaeron Winter). So I was just wondering if you guys had any tips on making snowy tilesets look realistic. |

I've only made one snow map in all my Warcraft Terraining. It isn't easy, but I tried to make mine look dark. Try to emphasize on either mountains, forest, or wasteland. Mountains and forests look good, and so do mountains and wasteland, but forests and wasteland don't mix. I hate it when people make this huge dead wasteland, and right next to it is the greenest forest you've ever seen. = P |

Usually you see such things on online ;) Luckily not too many people do that here. It is true though, Winter/Cold terrain maps usually have a lack of doodads since they don't have too many. Especially before TFT came. It is especially hard if you try to make it look cold but not cold enough to create those ice shards and stuff. Anyway I can't help too much with it... since snowy terrain isn't exactly something I'm too good with. (Not to mention Dungeon/Underground and Outlands/Dark Citadel) Anyway, good luck -Fladian |
