I know this sounds like a noob question (which it is :) ) but how do you open a wc3 model aka .mdx or .mdl files with gmax.

get mdx viewer, im not going to explain this cuz there are plenty of toturial of this.

Search for kmk script on google.in gmax go to utillities and click maxscript.click on runscript
open kmk.now it should say mdximporter/exporter below runscript.
select it, now scroll down and select static and disable bone rotation.
click now import mdx.there, that wasnt so hard was it?

only it doesnt work for me, i can only import my downloaded models.and i CANT export them 2.i dont know what im doing wrong so can anyone help me with this?

You need dex's script to export (from gmax) and yobguls file converter, (search this forum for it you should find it).

ok i have them both but i dont know what to do with the dex script.
i cant seem to export them.and the readme doesnt really help me.
if i select >export to file< it says that i must use >write to memory< or >print to listener<

write to memory is not useble yet. and print to listener says that all information in listener will be cleared.
all the other functions dont work 2.
i have no clue what to do with this. do you know what to do??

p.s sorry that im kinda stealing your tread ^_^

Print to listener, hit yes when it tells you all information will be cleared, then click open listener ( i think it is above where the "Run script button is") then copy and paste everything there minus the comments at the beginning and the line "Export Successful at the end" to a empty Notepad Document ( i think you can't select all the text at once to copy, so do it piece by piece), then save it as Name.mdl (name being whatever you want) then you need Yobguls file converter to convert it to .mdx. Hope that helps.
