Hi all. I am in the process of another project. Hopefully this one I will finish for sure, no matter if it's heading for disaster. Careers. It's a multiplayer game that takes place on islands like terrain with a warcraft setting where players will have to choose their careers. The concept is close to real life, but very different. First of all, once you select certain career, you get certain hero and you can't belong to any other career. Secondly, the setting is warcraft, not our RL. The point is for players to advance in their careers during the game and to become masters of their careers. Also every career will have a rival career. Well, let's look into it more deeply: Careers available: 1. Sports 2. Military 3. Trade 4. Crime Sports breaks into : Runners and Martial Artist Military is just military :) Trade: Merchant and Herb Dealer (close to Drug dealer) Crime: Bandit and Assassin In the version I am working at there will be only Runners that will have Orc Runner and Human Runner, everything else will have only one race. If this game becomes successful, I will add more races with different advantages for differnt careers Rivals: Military against Bandits and Assassins Runners against Player Runners and NPC runners Martial Artists fight in arenas against NPC fighters or player Merchants have other merchants or Herbal Dealers for rivals Bandits will have mostly Military Rival and Bandits are the villain of the game Assassins are pretty much against everyone, very much rogue Careers will have status that will be shown in Leader Board Military : Soldier, Elite Soldier, Chief, Commander Runners: Street Runner, Local Runner, Nation Runner, World Runner Fighters: Street Fighter, Local Fighter, Nation Fighter, World Fighter and etc. etc. I didn't plan those out yet, since it's pretty hard for me to come up with cool titles. Every career will have to constantly carry out certain tasks to move up: Runners will have to race in different tracks Military would have to either do npc missions or go against player bandits and assassins Bandits would have to kill citizens around the map and hunt down military (they are also kill on sight by the npc guards) Assassins have to do npc tasks to assassinate starting from not important figures to more important (who are guarded respectedly) Fighters would have to fight in arenas, look for hidden arenas, they also are main source of help to merchants and dealers (they do most creep killing) Merchants have to forge weapons, armor, items and sell them to players, they also have to look for materials to make items Dealers will have to make herbal items (alchemy) and sell them to npc and later, when they start making Godly buff potions, they will sell them to players They also have to find items for item making Some fun aspects of the map? There will be 1 or 2 hidden quests for each career that doesn't have to do with leveling up. These quests will bring cool items, maybe learn an ability. Everyone has their little workspace, meaning Military can operate barracks, Merchants and Dealers have Labs to make stuff, Bandits and Assassins are outlawed and find hideouts on their own. Runners have best apartments in Town, Fighters also have good apartment. There will be a bar where everyone is equal and can drink, talk, socialize :) There will be betting booths of when runners or fighters are competing, you can bet certain amount and get *2 or 3 or 4, depending on the level of the current competitors , and if the player char wins only There will be 3d cam installed only when you want to watch the arena fight or a race. Well, much work has to be done, so if anyone wants to help... I need ideas of spells, advanced triggers and unit, item making. |
