mdx to nif?

This is more related to Morrowind game, but it also relates to wc3.

Does anyone know how to convert mdx files into nif files so I can use wc3 units in Morrowind? And how to give them their skins? cos I don't think Morrowind path methods are the same as wc3 ones.

I would appreciate any help and they will get some nice, shiny rep if it works.

Well i actually dont know the answer... but by guessing the way game engines use models differently, it would be very hard. The best way would be to find out how to make .nif or .bif files for the game ur using, then import the wc3 model into 3ds max, then change what needs changing, then export it as the file type you want.

You will also have to change the file type of the textures aswell, and look around in the games files and see where they need put.

Hmm... I've got gmax, but I'm still useless with it. This may be difficult. Thanks anyway. If anyone else knows, please say.

The best way is undoubtly importing the mdx into max, correct them if possible (depending on the game you mod, if the game supports animate skin then you dont have to correct much, just fix the wrapping) and then export it to the appropiate format. However, that all depends on which game you mod, so you have to inquire the information and documents for regarding that.

In any case, you NEED max 5.1 in order to import animations as well to show them in other games. Otherwise you have to reanimate them from the beginning.....hmmm....WC3 stuff in Neverwinternights........Coo!

I correct myself: This will be difficult. I have no experience with anims, so I may be screwed.

The aniamtions will most likely be the easy part, you will be able to get someone to do that for you, but the hard part will be making the models correctly for the game. If there are no documents expalining how they made them....ur kinda screwed, unless someone has discovered out how.
