Thieves Guild and Marketplace

Okay, I'm not sure if Blizzard did something with the 1.03 patch or if I just can't remember correctly, but I cannot see the marketplace or thieves guild models in the game anymore. I had thought that I had them correctly working, but I'm not sure, since it's been awhile. But for sure they aren't working now.

Anyway, I've noticed a couple of other people asking down at the bottom of some long threads, so I wanted to bring the question up to the front.

How does one get the models distributed by Cookie in a .rar file to show up in the game?

They show up perfectly in the World Editor, and I pack them into the map w/ WinMPQ along the same path, but in the game, they are neither visible nor selectable, though they are there, because I hear the merchant select hero sound when walking by them.

1) Not sure if they removed it. Try to see if they're there using Blink.

2) Maybe coz you need to import the model AND the textures that model is going to use> If the modle is ok but it can't find one required texture, it will fail to load.

bliz can't 'remove' anything with their patches... At most they can overwrite the SLK with the references to a file in it.
I'm not sure about those units... I think it has something to do with the game only loading them properly if you have all the capitals right.
So if rabbit.mdx says rabbit.blp is in Units\Rabbit\Rabbit.blp, importing them into units\rabbit\rabbit.blp won't work.

Blizzard most certainly can remove things in patches. Take for example our ability to import txt files into maps. Also, technically, there's nothing to stop them from removing something from an mpq file.

Well, that's good to know. Did you use the same models that Cookie has in his archive? Or did you convert them yourself?

Either way, would you mind if I looked at your map to see what you're doing differently than I and so fix mine? (where/which map is it?)

Thanks.

Oh, and I have tried being particularlly sensitive to case, just in case, but without success.

I've imported the .mdx and .wav files into the map. Is there another something that's missing? Do I need the Marketplace.blp and Mercenary.blp too? I was just using the native .blp files for the icons. I was or am not aware that they had another use other than button icons.

EDIT

Well, I just answered my question. Thanks to all of you, you made me think that to try adding the .blp files too. Especially the post about textures. I was under the mistaken impression that .blp's were just icons.

Anyway, thanks again. It's working now, though it makes the map file size twice as large. -(
