Lately, I have been getting more and more PMs and IMs asking for help with the basics of the editor. So, I thought to myself. "I know a lot about the trigger editor, I could do something to help everyone." Now, tutorials can only go SO far. This will be at a set time. I will set up a chat room. (If your obnoxious you will get kicked.) Then it starts like a school class. I begin with some stupid statement, and begin to teach. There will be sections for questions, and I will think of a system to make sure I don't see questions flying all over the screen. Most likey will be a ! for a statement and a ? for a question. I'll write it down on my new whiteboard[shut-up :)] and follow in a list. I will most likely have classes for certain parts of the editor. The first class will be fairly simple, just so we can get to know each other, and I can figure out things. You have to realize, I am starting from the BEGINING. There is no, skip to parts. You attend all the classes, or attend none. There will be many things that will need the same map to connect to. I have not planned how many classes there will be, but there will AT LEAST 5. This is one of my best ideas I have had in a long time, I want to see a lot of replies and sign ups. To sign up, you have to do 1 of 3 things.
The classes could be from 1 hour to 4 hours long. I don't know, it depends on you and how well you are doing. At the begining of each class, I will have a quiz set up in Visual Basics (To be confirmed). You will then take it, and I will give you the grade on it. At the end of all the classes, there will a sort of final. I will set up a multi interactive quiz, (again to be confirmed). If you pass the class, then you know a lot more then you came, and... you get reconition as you begin to contribute more in the forums. There is no maximum class limit, alllthough the bigger the better. The only fear I have is being able to control everyone. Yet, there's always that [ignore] button. :) There will be EVERYTHING in the trigger/object covered. So again, all classes must be attended. Please post your feed back on this idea, I really am excited about teaching everyone. :) Linkmaster~ :EDIT: E-Mailing me or PMing me would be your best bet. As those can STAY there. Allthough, I rarely look at my PMs... your best bet for signups is E-Mail. Thanks. :EDIT2: Also include information about when the best time is for you. Thanks :EDIT3: Also, going on Edit 3... Include in the sign-up what you are most interested in... Triggered Spells, Variables, Leaderboards... ETC. :EDIT4: People have been saying that this will be too basic for them. Yet I plan to teach the class to the fullest of my knowledge... |

Sounds cool :) I think I'll attend, even though I know alot about triggers, I'd probably learn something new (I usually only deal with cinematic triggers, so I don't know any seriously advanced stuff, or how to create leaderboards, etc...) I guess we'll have to to see how many people want to attend, and then you'll be able to set up a time, etc... I think AIM would probably be the best client to use for a chat session. - Iron_Ian |

I'm curious as to how many sessions of class this will be. I might be interested in signing up, I already know my triggers but I might just help out, or correct your errors, if you make any. Thats a good idea. |
