![]() Project Darkspawn - Four Races, One Universe Warcraft III - Project Darkspawn is a Total Conversion unlike any other. Four new races, the Demons, the Devils, the Githyanki, and the Celestials, roam 18 different planes, from the Nine Hells of Baator to The Seven Mounting Heavens of Celestia, in an ongoing fight for supremacy.
Project Darkspawn should be an awsome experience for a few reasons; interesting units, balanced gameplay, and a large number of completely new game systems. Heroes take classes, allowing them to train with weapons and gain abilities not normally available to their base species. Units gain experience with kills, allowing them to reach veteran levels. Both Psionics and Magic can be used in battle, and even the deities themselves can be summoned into battle. Screenshots Screenshots page Team-members Currently Needed

I'm curious... does some of this take from AD&D? I remember a monster called a Githyanki from it, and also the Astral Planes and the 7 Hells. Also, can you explain the difference of the Devils and Demons to me? I don't really see a big distinguishment between the two, and I am eager to hear what differences they have in your world. |

Both demons and devils are evil in the mod, but demons have no social or set power-structure, and have chaotic powers, while devils have a heavy social structure and level or control, allowing for some interesting effects such as being able to link units together in Formations. The actual difference becomes much more apparent in the campaigns than in standard melee games. ![]() Gameplay

The only natural occurrence of ectoplasm is in the Astral Plane, and as such, to mine it, you need an Astral Portal. The Githyanki use Astral Conductors to mine ectoplasm. Lumber has been replaced by Arcanite, a strong material found everywhere in the universe that resembles metal. Arcanite is harvested from Arcanite Spires. Some of the Githyanki building models (Done by me). Don't expect much from the skins, because my UV maps suck very badly. Astral Conductor ![]() Githyanki Barracks ![]() Psionic Tower ![]() ![]() Astral Portal ![]() |

Sounds interesting, but I'm just curious if you're going to have a campaign that goes with it, or just new races that can be played on melee maps? |

There will be a campaign that makes up an integral part of the mod, but the first priority is the melee. |

Why would you choose melee over campaign? Wouldn't the campaign explain some things of the races? I see that as somewhat more useful. Anyway, this sounds pretty interesting and certainly something familiar (in races :P) good luck with it, I'll be looking forward to it's progress (I don't got the skills to help) -Fladian |

I'm going melee over campaign because I want units in both to be reasonably identical. I've gotta design and complete all the units anyway, so I'm working on the melee aspect right now. I've updated the screenshots gallery. |
