I was just curious what type of "Special Levels" like in TD's. Feel free to select asmany as you want. Hopefully, this could help a bunch TD developers, including myself (I'm thinking of making a Solo TD sometime). |

All of them are good ideas but for bonus levels, really the first one is the best idea. There are a few good things that you could do out there. Basically, suprising people is the way to go. Have one of the weak towers have a chaos attach, and then make a uniut later on have divine armour so people have to think fast. Try and make the player more "involved" in the game that just making them build an uber tower and sitting back and watching the carnage. How about having a round where the player has to target the unit themselves? turn auto attacking off for a bonus round or 2 and let the player fend for themselves... work with it! -Garith |

Forbidden Elements TW (TW!) has the great idea of using HEROES as attacking units. It's hella fun to see them use some abilities while attacking.. Rexxar ownz with his quilbear. I don't know exactly how you should implement that in a TD, but it'd be fun to play if you'd manage to do it somehow. |

I like different immune levels like in minotaur's labyrinth or ghost td if you know it. |

If you've played Zwukel TD you'll see some great implementing of armor types. It gives you an advantage of having one kind of tower. Could be something to think about for your TD. You don't need to map out what armor the next level will have on a leaderboard though. Max that you'll announce it while you announce the next level. (Level 13: Extreme Super Bears Armor: Light Special: None) Oh, and don't forget to color displaying texts! Not in too flashy colors but "highlight" things people should read.
