Is there any way that you can change the "levels per skill level" thing to 0? so that a hero can have a skill at lvl 2 or 3 etc, even if they are still only a lvl 1 hero? Erm, guess thats it. |

Try Shift Forceing it to -1. It may crash or override to no requirement as 0 tells it to use the default in the Gamplay Constants Menu. |

can't force a -1, also, a 0 for default would work too, but it resets itself to 1 |

You could use a trigger to give the hero a bunch of points to spend. |

I was able to force it in the editor, do you mean the game still uses a default "1" in-game? |

Okay.... here is what I want and what is happening. I have 3 skills, they each have like 8 levels. The thing is, heros only go to lvl 4. The heros don't get skill points by leveling up, they get them through other means. If a hero is still say a lvl 2, and he wants to learn lvl 3 crit strike, he can't, it requires the hero to be lvl 3. How can I get around that? |

Ok, I placed 10 unaltered Paladins on a blank 32x32 map, One at each level (1, 2, 3, etc.) None have any abilities learned. I started the map without any other changes. On the level 1 Paladin I learned Holy Light and then returned to the Hero Abilities menu to see it require Hero Level 3 to learn Skill Level 2 FAILED I changed the Advanced -> Gameplay Constants *-> Hero Abilities Level Skip (Default) to 1 (from 2) I started the map without any other changes. On the level 1 Paladin I learned Holy Light and then returned to the Hero Abilities menu to see it require Hero Level 2 to learn Skill Level 2 FAILED I changed the Advanced -> Gameplay Constants *-> Hero Abilities Level Skip (Default) to 0 (from 1) Note: I had to hold Shift and hit enter to allow illegal values in the pop-up box I started the map without any other changes. On the level 1 Paladin I learned Holy Light and then returned to the Hero Abilities menu to see it NOT require any higher Hero Levels to learn Skill Level 2 SUCCESS Here is the map... |

AHHHHHH, nm, I got it, didn't realize you hit shift before hitting edit :( was doing shift+enter after I edited it. Bah, I guess you have to do something to make yourself feel like a noob every now and then. Thanks. |

You have to hit Shift+Enter when OPENING the box NOT when closing. It's the same in all of the boxes that have min/max values to allow illegal numbers. Try it that way then let me know. If you have yahoo messenger we could discuss this more quickly. |
