Dark Rider

It's supposed to be a dark rider from an RP thread I'm in on the WoW forums. These guys normally ride frost wyrms, but meh... I drew him wyrmless. Their poor dark general died... blown up by a mad Baltoy Steeltoe with explosives strapped to him...

Anyway, here's the picture.

Well... here goes on my bad attempt at making crits.

The position of the cowl and the eyes within looks kind of weird when compared to the rest of the drawing.

The angle of the left arm looks painful...

And if this guy is supposed to ride a frosty... well... he doesn't look that important... he needs to be more menacing.

I know... I suck at crits... but this post seemed so bare.

Looks pretty nice. But, like icbm said, the hood looks kinda out of place as it is; you should give the head/skull a BIT of definition or shape or whatever, but not too much as to not lose the whole spooky im-wearing-a-hood effect. And except for that maybe make the hips wider (assuming that his hips are just below the belt). Good job overall though!

the bones, cape, and mail are nicely drawn, but if this is supposed to be a skeleton he should look more gaunt. He looks thick, as if he had bulgin muscles. If he were made thinner and more like a pile of bones laced together, the drawing would be vastly improved.

mmmjeb... a FW rider would be cool ideed... and... lethal?

it would kinda have to be a strong mage riding it though, unless it soly for transport... the FW's own attack is stronger then a spear.

@icbm: His left arm or our left? You try and make that pose. Does it feel painful?

And how could I make him more menacing? I'm not too good at menacing.

@LegnaKrad: Do you mean lighten the inside of the hood and give him a light head outline?

@AlexBS: He's not actually a skeleton. Well, not all skeleton. He's like WoW forsaken. They have some bone bits, and some flesh bits. Like on the rider's upper arms are supposed to be kinda fleshy.

And dark riders are supposed to be the elite mounted warriors of the scourge. They're like ringwraiths in a way. No one has ever seen their face, they're very hard to kill, fly on dragonlike creature's backs...

That was the first thing I thought of.

If you want to make him more menacing... give him an actual good weapon. Kinda like the Soul Blade's from Soul Caliber... they look evil.

And the cowl should dip back down in in the front... there is nothing to hold it up there... it shouldn't be up.

Think of Melkor and Ringwraiths and such... they are simple designs... yet very menacing.

Well, their weapon is supposed to be a spear. I just remembered that they were barbed spears. They all have swords, but they hardly use them, and they're just like tarnished, jagged broadswords, I believe, according to their description. Only their captain has a slightly more evil sword. His has runes, and is a little more curly points on the blade.

It's a cloth hood... right?

Go put on a hood that reaches about 3 inches further than your head... you should see what I mean. Gravity will pull the front edge downward because there is nothing to support it.

and make that spear look evil... the guys on the wyverns have better spears than that. Add more weird barb things... and maybe some runes... and make it asymmetrical... make it look like a mini frostmourne on a stick... but make it EVIL!!!

yeah... like he died becouse he had explosives tied to his belly, and when they explode they blew away all the flesh in the belly and under arms, but left the test lol ^^

Menacing and evil, menacing and evil! You must have menacing and evil when dealing with undead!!! Muhahahah!
