Here's a transcript of the original post, which can be found here: http://www.wc3campaigns.com/showthread.php?t=57086
My reply to Whitehorn can be found at the bottom, I really don't mind if this gets me banned. So have at it.

Kain_M:Here's a skin I made for fun, I tried for a more artistic look than my usual skin because of the comic book reference. Yes, I know I need to do something about his tendrils on his face, it's a shame blizz made the texture repeat on his tail to that.

MantisScreamer: I think it really looks good, however in a few areas it looks like you burned too much.

Kain_M: Naw, I wanted it to have that look because the reference pic was extremely dark. Like I said, I wanted a comic book look.

Jester-Of-Death
: It seems only the omg woot comments are wanted in Kain_Ms threads.

Can I sing the song instead?

And that's a very nice Skin Kain... If the wrapping isn't too bad on the waste... then how about some little pockets on the utility belt?

Batman... dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun... Batman!
Pow! Whack!

Hmmmm... would this be the beginning of a Superhero skin pack?

icbm1987

Kain_M: No, I just like to comment on other people's comments, Jester. You do know, other people can be wrong.. right? It is MY skin, I DO have a right to comment on it. And I can tell you, I'd rather have comments that hate my skin and etc rather than useless comments that waste my time. Like your's. If someone brings up a valid point I'm all ears.

Icbm, I did try some of the pouches, they stretched terribly, in the center of his ab's they'd become VERY narrow, and they'd widen out as you went out from that center. Was very ugly And the only way to fix that would be to move it up some, then it would look even worse IMO so I just said whatever and made a little belt

Whitehorn: It is very blurry, the whole grey area lacks definition, or maybe it lost its definition with the overdone darkening you tried to achieve.

Erwtenpeller: and nobudy ever seems to come up with a valid point, right?

...

i'd say its a funky idea, and it looks quite funky to.. but batman alwas has verry strong defined muscles in his suits and stuff right? in the grey/black areas i just dont find that black spandax kinda feel batman has... it just doesnt look quite smooth enough, too much lines going on preventing you too see the verry defined muscles...

just something i noticed, becouse you said you wanted to get that 'comic book' feeling...

also, if you want to do that. why not try putting in some 'outlines'? like a black line around the belt and such... that oughtta be comicy right?

also, it would be helpfull if you would post the reference you used to make this-- batman looks verry diffrent in various comics. that would help getting some 'valid' comments your way...

Kain_M: Well you see, most the comments aren't valid because I meant to do what someone else said. Them telling me that they think it's wrong means nothing to me. That happens way to often. Case in point is what Whitehorn just commented on; IMO it hardly lacks definition because you can clearly see a chest, abs, and the bat symbol that and I KNOW it's overdone shading, it's MEANT to be overdone. I swear, in comments in people's skins I see people act as if the original artist is blind and can't see what he has done.

And Batman doesn't wear black spandex. Also the lines I did were of the stretching you'd get from "defined" muscles pulling tight the clothing. Black lines would be fine, but that's more a cel-shading look and wouldn't look that great, intead I went for HEAVY shadows.

My reference pic is attached.

Erwtenpeller: thnx for the reference, thats always helpfull...

but yeah the skin is perfect kain, just perfect...

Kain_M: Lol, no it's not. Please, don't be a smartass. I can think of ten things that I would do differently but I really dislike going back and changing my skins once I've finished them. It's probably because I'm lazy ;p

Mech-ag05*quote* Make it stop, I actually prefer all the dumb undead skins to these "insert new word, not (panda) WARLOCK/ARCHIMONDE skins. It's not funny, if that's what you (remove "guys") are going for. *end quote*
its not a bad skin but if you're going to flame some1 else for doing a constant set of skin ideas (i.e. panda based skins) then please dont post several of the same model for a skin and not expect SOMEONE to speak up.... it IS a good skin, but im not gonna rep you this one because you were such a flamer on ert and jerre's boards (both pandas) and i neg repped you ther FOR being flamer.... so theres no rep from he here, but yes its a nice skin... BACK TO TOPIC: /the spikes around his neck seem kinda flat or undetailed compared to rest of skin... also blends with skin color too much/

Saikann: Its always fun to see which bad parts are intentional, once they get pointed out.
Not one of you're better skins, it lacks overall depth imo. But its an unusual (good perhaps) idea to skin the warlock as batman.

Kain_M: Mech, there is a difference here. There's a difference between USING THE SAME MODEL and USING THE SAME CONCEPT. Also, what the hell, spikes? There are no spikes on this skin and if you can't tell what that is, don't bother commenting. I can't help if Batman's color's blend with Archimonde's skin, I'd rather be true to the concept and what I'm going for than change his skin color or the color of the fabric over his face (do any of you now realize what I meant about the irrelevant comments?).

Don't be a f'ing moron. You're not clever, not in the least.

Also, Saikann, what do you mean by depth.. this is what I don't like about some of wc3c's comments.. so vague. At least when I have a problem with a skin and take the time to comment, I usually tell you what that problem is without dancing circles around it. So, please, try to explain or just do it for my next skin, thanks~

Mech-AG05: not really..... but dude the cloak part near his head... that juts out... i called em spikes cuz i didnt know what they wer and they looked close to spikes... anyway i know im not clever, but you sure aint just in your reps either, you're not even close. btw you said you dont want people to leave flame reps then not leave name, and yet you DO do that.... so please just give neg reps when something REALLY sucks not every time you dont like it... *sorry bout the off topic*

Kain_M:I really want to take your comments to heart. But please, if you want to be taken seriously, type more coherently. I seriously, after reading that, have no idea what you want me to fix.

Also, I've already told you about the reputation thing. Well, maybe not you, but I explained why I did it like I did. I'm not going to get into it again, it's not worth it.

Whitehorn: Kain. Stop flaming. Stop moaning. Most of all, stop posting skins if you so really hate every comment people give. Read my stickied thread about post content. People will say what they think about your skin. You invited them to by posting it. If you dont like the comment, ignore it and wait for something you can step down low enough to consider a valid point.

If every comment we give is instantly null because the skin is 'how you want it' or 'too vague', then just dont bother, OK? Chin up, or chin out.

Whitehorn, I'm all ears to any comment about my skins, but why can't I comment on the comments? Is there a rule somewhere stating that I can't do that? Why can't other people be wrong in their assumptions and their critiques? You do know that lots of people are wrong about many things they do, correct? Why should I consider a statement like "It's too dark" to mean anything, when that's the look I'm going for.. I'd rather set said person straight rather than look like I don't know what I'm doing with my OWN skin.

Not every comment I've seen is too vague, but after reading through some of the posts here I can safely say there most of them are. If not completely irrelevant. Some of the comments I've seen in my posts have really helped out my skin, yet lately they've been terrible and without any grounding. It's very frustrating. A lot of the comments I've been receiving are a lot more hostile than mine, but they seem to be friends with some of the more "important" people here, so you won't be seeing anything happening to them. Hell, just look at the Mech guy's posts.

I keep posting here because I'm waiting for the perfect gem of a critique, that one that will set it all straight; it's worth wading through some of the more useless crap I've seen here. You'd see me commenting on a lot more of the useless comments if they were more important to me, but since they don't pertain to my skins that won't happen.

I can at least safely say that locking threads isn't going to help any situation, especially if you consider any of this a "flame." Hell, this whole skin was a joke skin for the Tides of blood map, and I made it for some laughs. I didn't expect any of this to happen, that's for sure. I really don't even care about this skin, it's more of the principe of the thing

P.S. You can delete the other thread if you'd like. Have a nice day!

Set them straight? What do you mean set them straight, they are set straight, thats their opinion and they support it. Replying in a negative way to comment only starts an argument. Its not that hard to simply ignore the comments you don't want take into consideration. Or you can say something like "I intended it to be darker", rather then calling comments "invalid". Just be glad you are even getting comments.

And if other people are leaving rude comments in your thread, simply ignore them as well.
