I had an idea. Even tough Warcraft 3 is, in my opinion, the best PC game ever made, it is not free of glitches and bugs. So i tought to open a thread were people could present those glitches, and maybe even possible ways to fix them. Starting, i'll put the 2 i've found, one of them i could disguise(not solve) with triggers: ORBS/ARROW SKILLS INCOMPATIBILITY: I've noticed that arrow skills, such as Dark, Cold and Searing arrows, stop working when the hero that uses them aquires an orb type item. The skill's effect is completely replaced by the orb's effect. As a great user of Dark Rangers, this is bad for me, and i don't know how to fix that. SIEGE ENGINE PROJECTILE BUG: This one is quite hard to see with the Siege Engine itself, but when i tried to make a long range siege unit with barrage, i saw it. The primary attack's projectile art is replaced by that of the secondary weapon when the unit gains the barrage upgrade. I've found a way to make this very hard to see by using triggers: -Set the projectile speed of the primary attack to maximun -make a trigger that creates the propper FX every time the unit fires |

What you're talking about aren't bugs so much as aspects of the engine. It's well-known, for example, that orb and arrow effects don't work together at the same time. It's not that they screwed up in the programming; they just didn't build the game in such a way that attack enhancements stack. I'm pretty sure that the behavior that you describe with Barrage is a pretty intrinsic aspect of the Barrage ability. That's how it gives the siege engine its attack. At any rate, I don't think it's particularly necessary to keep a thread of bugs on WC3C when Blizzard does it themselves, and they tend to fix bugs that they record there. |
