Showcase Skin No.2: Ancient Guardian

The 2nd of my new showcase skins, a lower res one this time, going for that blizzard ancient feel. No CnP involved (cept from my own stuff)

Comments and Critiques welcome, flaming and "Omg, so good" is not.

hey... thats a good idea! it looks quite nice too...

the leaves at some of the places, like around the neck, look a little weird up-close, but i doubt that'll be a real problem in-game...

i would have to say the green insodes of the mouth or whatever, doesnt look to good... i think it would look better in thata stonish color...

it would also be nice if it was possible to implement some wood in there? to confirm that 'ancient feeling'...

i dont really know where though,.. it might come out verry weird...

cool one, except the leaves on the belly should go on the back I think, cause it looks like he is wearing an apron and most animals have lighter and shorter fur on their bellies and i think the leaves look a bit heavy for that, just my opinion, but I like the skin and the idea

the mouth edges takes its skin from somewhere on the body! I am attempting to find out where so i can stick a stone there and fix it up. The front of the chest is HORRIBLY streched. Remember i am trying to make this fit into WCIII as much as possible, i have to do more of these Ancient conversions, their fun ^_^

I really don't like the concept, but I suppose it's cute (I'm just tired of people using things like panda's and now ancient of wars and sticking the idea on a new model, and acting like it's original.. it's not, and in most cases it doesn't even look good).

Most of the problems I see are from the unwrap and stretching, but I think the leaves could be better detailed; you should use less leaves so you can actually get detail into the leaves. Right now it's a jumbled mess and looks like a green blob with black lines through it, not very pretty :> Otherwise it looks like it didn't take that much time and you're ready to start a new one, good luck~

ok, now i understand why you get so much bad rep. Like all my skins, it is still WIP, i gotta fix the mouth, there will definitely be less leaves on its body too.

in my opinion, it is quite an original skin... and nobudy skins wolves either. thsi skin could have great perpouses in some mod.

i's say, making a panda or a wolf into an ancient ÃÂ*s original...

sigh enough of this... i agree with the idea that the leaves might do a better job on his back then his tummy...

He didn't flame at all the only offensive part would be him saying "I'm just tired of people using things like panda's and now ancient of wars and sticking the idea on a new model, and acting like it's original.. it's not, and in most cases it doesn't even look good." It looks somewhat strange how the leaves start at his neck so heavy. Try to slowly add leaves to make it fade in somewhat. He looks kinda blurry what res is this? I like the idea though.

Its pretty good... I would switch it to high res though because the skin quality isn't that good.

i did make a high res version, but it didnt look blizzardish, way too detailed, i will probably make a high res variation on it tho. Lets just drop the Kain issue for now.

I have a suggestion, maybe put some flowers in the leaves like the ancient protector just to give it something extra, and go check the skin dl section there is a guy that had the sme idea wth a bear but this one looks better i think.

woah nice skin, but the icon have a huge head, not like a wolf, did you CnPed?
the leaves on the wolf looks like cnp, but making them one per one can be hard.. the wolf should look like good from a game view. id suggest remove some leaves on the belly and add way more on its back. also, his eyes looks like odd, try getting in-game views, portrait and such...

i freehanded the icon, the leaves on his neck (the sticky out ones) i cant change because they all take the same texture from a tiny bit in the skin, so it repeats.

whats wrong with his eyes? they look fine to me.
