big pics = better :D And marvelous terrain! :D :D :D I've often wondered... how does one make the doodads adjust to the terrain like the bottom of the doodad laying flat on steep terrain, like your stones. |

Pics look very Good 4/5. Great inventive use of the rock chunks, that waterfall is breathtaking - and how o how did you get the fur tree to work? |

For the rocks, you can go into the object editor and set the max roll(or the other one) up really high, it will make the doodad lay on slopes and raised terrain. Btw great terrain, in the back of the second pic you may want to add a variation in tree hight, and make the end blend a little better, that white sand looks a little out of place as well. over all good though |

Hm... I dunno. I'm not too fond of the tilting rocks. It doesn't look all that natural. Look at this picture of a waterfall: http://theory.itp.ucsb.edu/~akakii/p.../waterfall.jpg You notice that the rocks on the sides don't tilt or anything to conform to the ground it's on. The dirt or whatever usually goes around the rock, while the rock stays more or less straight up and down. I've been terraining a waterfall lately, and the way I'm doing it, is I scale up those rock chunks real big, like 300-500%, and stack them. Then I just place the waterfall wherever it looks good. This way, I get a natural looking waterfall (sorry I don't have screenshots). |

Good use of doodads, I like the way you've placed the rock chunks with the waterfall, I give that pic 9½/10. But the other one is abit bare, you should try to variate the tiles, and some of the doodads seem to be randomly placed, however it's over all very good, 8/10. Vagabond- |

Murcielago), I just thought you'd like to know that the link to your cinematic is not working. Very nice terraining there! Once again you have blown me out of my chair. I agree with beam though, those rocks don't look realistic. Don't get me wrong, the way they're placed looks very nice, it just isn't very natural. But then again, It doesn't have to look natural. In fact, some cinematics look good when their not too realistic. |

yeah i was trying to get a rocky cliff.... i didnt want to leave the terrain bare like most people do and just put shrubs. oh and the river on the left isnt completely done...theres still more to do :D [edit] the link seems to work for me, i dont know why it doesnt work for u, but if it doesnt go into the cinematic forum, and into the sub forum there :D |

your waterfall's just hanging there, theres nothing behind it, i can see right though and thee is a distinct lack of river, or well, andything. not a problem as such, but you could layer up the waterfalls to make it less transparent. i dont lie those rocks, they look good at the angled shot in the second pic, but not the first. i think it would look good if you just added some laege cattils and shrubs, as they sort of look like theyre floating, its just the effect form those coulered rocks on the rocky terrain tile underneath. but overall, a very nice job as always :D |
