I didn't even know it was possible, until i did it by accidennt.
I had a unit with 0 dmg base, 1 die, and 19 sides per die, and i was doing like 14-29 negatice damage, and it healed units too without crashing.

Sucks that he was targeting enemies by default though! I wonder, where could negative damage be useful?

Hmm that sounds very interesting, I can see it now a spell, doing negative damge as well. but it does seem humorous as you attack the enemy to give him health. I guess it could come in useful, you would have to get the characters auto attack abbility off though (simple enough)

Yes...
Well, I always though of negative damage, but I never tried it thinking it wasn't possible or it would cause problems...

Using triggers to auto-aquire friendly units could be interesting...

Like the medic in StarCraft. Isn't there a unit in WarCraft 3 that does that (If not, I am probably going crazy)

What? The priest?

Heal is an ability on both the priest and medic, not an attack though.

Wow, that sounds cool!:D But if your going to make it an peon, isnt it kinda unfair as you have unlimited healing?

Ever tried if spells could have negative damage ? So that they'd heal. It could lead into interesting spells.

If a unit is ordered to attack another unit, you can make a trigger to check to see if that unit has at least 20 mana. if so do nothing, if he doesnt, have the trigger order him to stop. Then have another trigger: when the unit does successly attack (unit is damaged i think) you can subtract 20 mana from the attacking unit...
Of course there is also the probly of auto attacking since the unit is not being issued an order... im sure there is a way arround that though.

well i have actually worked on this, like if u want an undead version of holy light just set the damage to negative, it wil hurt humans and heal undead!

Hehe, death and decay with negative dmg (does that work), cookie turning starfall to negative dmg wouldnt be so smart as u will heal the enemy :/, carrion swarm, shockwave and warstomp would be cool spells if they had negative dmg :D

in a RPG map you can put 3 emergency heal towers with -500 dmg and only lets you to attack (heal) yourself or allies once? (use triggers to destroy 1 emergency tower when the player uses it)

well, there are some uses, like having an unholy paladin attack holy creatures (living) deal normal damage, and when engaging evil creatures (undead) it heals (so his attack not effective)

You mean Death Coil?

The two spells are identical, except that one heals Undead and the other heals Living.
