Transcendence
Hey guys. I'm editing my friends game, UndeadBudgie's Final Fantasy Open RPG. I'm trying to make a final version with a new multiboard system, new bosses, much harder bosses, higher levels and etc. Now, I see his game hosted so many times, that I have decided to try to get a team together, to make a sequel. If your interested, post here. To see what the first one was like, download it under the downloads section.

hmm, i'd actually be very interested in this, because i just got it, love it.. play it too much. theres plenty of things i would change tho. bigest, is kefkas arena. hes too strong to fight, but if you use divine shield he runs.. also he got sloppy on the items. like paly is only item that tells you what level is required, and paly 3 doesnt work right. but i can help with almost anything though i wouldn't suggest using me for skins or models. by sequel do u mean whole new map and storyline? or just finalize his more? if the former (ooh fancy smancy word :8 ) are you going to use his engine?

i'm intertested if you need a modeler, but you may want another one because i'm not that good but if you accept me despite my limitations i'll work really hard. also I need a skinner if you accept but some already said they did :>, I can't find a tutorial on how to do it so I don't know how.

Red Kerensky
I have tweaked with the map some, mostly tried adding characters as the avalible characters were completely unfamiliar to me. I managed to add Barret and RedXIII, done a lot of balance testing, almost finished before I both started to lose interest in WCIII, and my brother lost the Frozen Throne CD.

Although it was a fairly simple addon. Since I felt that neither would fit very well into the D&D-ish system, they both were a class of their own.

Barret was the simplest character to create, with the general 'All stats geared to make a good fighter' and thus not having to bother adding special abilities. Also geared that he was really good in the beginning, but towards the later levels most of the other classes will out-pace him. I think I also remember giving him the ability to use most armor, but I am not too sure, since I have not looked at it in awile.

RedXIII was a lot more complex and harder to balance/make, but one of my best creations, since he was, in FF7, a character who was adept at both fighting and general-use Magic. I went with the Red Mage on Steroids basic theme. Despite sounding very uber and unbalanced, it is not the type of character that a newbie should use, since in the early levels, I made him quite weak, his stats probably at Level 1 bearly sufficient, and almost everybody would find it impossible to level up solo-ing. Plus, despite getting more abilities than a normal Red Mage, All his abilities came at significantly later levels than a typical Red Mage as well. A Lot of people were bitching that he was not that good when they first tried him out.

Although, upon playing the map a dozen or so times (and making dozens of tweaks), I figured out that RedXIII is infact, a bit uber if you stick with him, but not due to planning, but due to the fact that the level-up system in the version I based it off on was flawed. Characters just levelled up way too quickly, it was amazingly easy (not only for me) to get a Level 200 character. Excellent items were rare, but not impossible to get after a couple games.

I guess I was just originally expecting that it would take at least a week or two of dedicated playing to make it to Level 200.

Would have remade things, but I decided that it would simply be too big a project to remake the whole levelling system, plus I was unsure what it will do to the balance.

Corrupty, you're not new here, so please look at the date if someone else revives it.
